@sherryberry:  OMG, I am of Italian descent so you’ve got my attention with this menu! 🙂 I love it, but I did notice there’s a big tomato theme going on here — 3 dishes feature tomatoes or tomato sauce. Any chance of switching it up a little, like having the gnocchi prepared differently with a white wine sauce instead?

Sounds really lovely. I love all that stuff!!  My only comment would be: I hope you don’t have anyone lactose intolerant there! All but one of your dishes contain dairy.

i think it sounds great! cornflakegirl makes a good point about all the tomatos though, white wine or cheese sauce for the gnocci would be delicious (as you already have a tomato-y pasta with the lasagne)

Is this a seated dinner or buffet? I was going to say it sounds awfully heavy. Meat, starch, cheese, fried and repeat.

Definitely heavy, especially for an August wedding. Maybe trade the lasagna for chicken piccatta and lightly buttered pasta?

I would not change the sauce on the gnocchi to pesto; that would make it so heavy, especially for August. I agree with a PP that maybe the lasagna should be changed out for something lighter, but it still all sounds great.

Chicken piccata is an Italian dish of chicken breast sautéed in white wine with lots of lemon, sometimes it has capers or mushrooms or green onions too. Very light and crisp flavor, great for summer.
