I love my husband, I would follow him to the ends of the earth and back. Given that he is in the military, chances are I will follow him to the ends of the earth and back! I just wish that doing so wasn’t such a fricking headache!
About 6 weeks ago my husband got orders (official paper orders!) to a new duty station. Within 2 weeks those were rescinded and he was given another set of official paper orders to a different command. Everything seemed to be set. I started the paperwork to get the move started only to have his detailer tell him that his orders are being changed, AGAIN. The new orders are going to be significantly more complicated than the other sets of orders and I would dearly love to not have to plan this move in less than 6 weeks during peak PCS season!!!!
Ok, rant over. I just really needed to get that out there. I am just so frustrated. Why can’t they make up their minds where they want PenguinGuy?

Ahh… I would be so annoyed too!! I guess in a sense it’s kind of a compliment, since it seems that PenguinGuy is in high demand. 😉
Buuuut for real… that’s annoying, I’m sorry!!!!

Oh, yes, the Army is not my friend right now (Still love the men and women that wear the uniforms). I have been planning my wedding for two years, and the stupid Army decided that my brother needs to be even further away and move right before my wedding. All because they want to keep the trainers further away from the trainees. Now, why would they put the trainers on the complete other coast from any of the trainees?

My Darling Husband had this running joke that we would never pay attention to the first announcement of anything when it came to the Army. Most likely, they ended up changing it a bazillion times, only to go back to the original plan/date they first stated!

@Penguingal06:GAH! That is SO ANNOYING!
Last year he got orders,and I quit my job and we got all ready to move to Quantico, and then, instead, they deployed him to Afghanistan ( just a few days after he was supposed to restation).
I hear this is not uncommon at all.
Heard one horror story of a mil-fam already driving to their new station and they got restationed!!!
Sorry you’re dealing with this. Oh, life with the military.

@Penguingal06: Wait, there’s a peak PCS season?

@ellabee: Yep! When I went to schedule the move online I saw a message asking to kindly try to avoid scheduling the move between 15 June and 15 July due to the high volume of moves anticipated.
Update: His new orders should be in by the end of the week. Unfortunately, they have him leaving the ship in about 2 weeks. Yay for fast turnaround!

ugh!!! I would love to yell at the military sometimes!! They are the ruiner of plans but we do what we have to when we fall in love with a soldier. I guess the only thing to do is take it as it comes and vent on the hive =)
