- Wedding: September 2011
Well, bees, we got hitched this past weekend! I’ve reluctantly returned from Never-Never Land and back to the real world, so I thought I’d begin my recaps! I will start with the rehearsal and groom’s dinner
Friday, it all started to sink in. I finished some last-minute projects (decorating my baby’s wagon, printing wedding party timelines, and organizing everything that needed to be delivered to the hotel). Slowly my family and friends started texting me that they were arriving to town and that’s when the excitement truly set in. We just couldn’t wrap our minds around the fact that everyone was here for US!
Our rehearsal was cold and windy…a small preview of our day to come. Our officiant gave us all a lecture that if he smells alcohol on anyone’s breath, he’s out of there! He said he has been to two weddings where a groomsmen literally threw up on him or the bride so he said he just doesn’t tolerate it at all anymore! EW!
We had our rehearsal dinner at a really cool upscale pool/billiards/bar in a private room. Most of my bridesmaids left to go back to the hotel to get some shut eye, but one remained as well as some of the groomsmen’s girlfriends/wives. The guys were heading out to a different bar, and I just didn’t want to go to bed yet, either! I never get to see some of these people — they live 10 hours away — so a group of us girls ended up staying back to have a few drinks. Well, a few drinks turned into bar hopping, and we eventually met up with my future groom and his groomsmen. However, I don’t regret that ONE BIT as we had such a memorable and fun night.
I rolled into the hotel room that I was sharing with my mom at about 1am and passed out…
