- Wedding: September 2011
As you may have read in Part 1, I thought it was a great idea to go out after the rehearsal dinner with my girls. We had a blast…but I was also banking on the thought that my baby would sleep through the night. I was sharing a room with him and my mom, and he got up twice that night, and I ended up sleeping with him in my bed to calm him down. Too much stimulation during the day=rough nights for babies!
Needless to say, I was a bit groggy at 7:30am. I showered and met up with my bridesmaids for some coffee in the hotel lobby, then made our way to the hair salon. We ate the most delicious breakfast pizza and got our hair done. I was planning to do my own makeup, but when the esthetician there told me that airbrush makeup was only $25 I practically jumped into her chair! I only had her do my face makeup, as I was satisfied with my plan for my DIY eye makeup.
I have to say that I am SOOO glad that I got airbrush makeup done! I applied a little bit of powder to my forehead before the reception but that’s the only retouching I had to do!!
Here’s a close-up of my hair on the left side with the flower and brooch. The brooch was from my stepmom, the hair flower I made. (More photos later of the other side of my hair).
After getting our hair done, I had to meet up at the ceremony location (a city park) to begin decorating and monitor the groomsmen who were supposed to set up the chairs.
Thus began my bridezilla moment. The chairs were supposed to arrive at 12:30. We did the other decorating we had to complete within 5 minutes. I called the rental place at 12:50 and they said they were on their way. At 1:15 they were still not there, and Fiance finally called again. I had planned for half an hour to set the chairs up, so we were all behind schedule at this point. I told the guys I had to go back to the hotel and finish getting ready. I got into my car and I received a phone call from the rentall place. He said, “Hi, this is __ from __. We’re sitting at 555 Blanky Street and no one is home.”
“That’s because that’s my HOUSE. The wedding ceremony is at __ Park!!!!” He said, “Oh…where’s that? How do we get there?” Argg…I was rather snappy at him. I guess they finally arrived at the park at 1:40…FI’s dad stayed to help them set up but Fiance told him that since htey’re an hour and 10 mins late that they’d have to help set it up. I still have to make my payment to them and I’m going to ask for a discount for the obvious miscommunication (I KNOW that when I rented the chairs that they asked me where they were to be delivered, and I gave them the address of the park and everything!).
After that I felt a little frazzled. We were all running late, I was getting a ZILLION texts from everyone asking me questions and I was like “Look at your timeline!” and they’d say that they didn’t have it with them…grrr! We had planned to do first look photos and bridal party and groomsmen photos all before the ceremony…and those got cut out. We figured we’d do them later. (The only thing I’m so upset about that I literally JUST realized is I never got a photo with my dad or just me and my sister 🙁 Those were planned to happen before the ceremony and we completley forgot afterwards.)
But then I finished my makeup, I got into my dress…and some of the stress melted away.
Here’s my mom buttoning up the back of my dress and the moment I began to relax:
More to come!
