- Wedding: September 2011
After the ceremony we took some pro pics in the park. I can’t wait to see them! We walked downtown to a bar where we had a drink and worked on my bustle:
An official photo of the back of my dress:
We took a few pics on the train tracks, a dirty but cool alley, and on some awesome couches in another bar. I can’t wait to see our pro pics!
After that, we went to the hotel/reception for our grand entrance. Each person in the wedding party got their own intros with a personalized song that we picked out for them. They sat at the head table where they each saw their personalized glasses I made (guys – girls)!
Here’s a view of our reception before anyone came and the lights were more dim than this:
My DIY branch centerpieces:
We had heavy appetizers for dinner and our guests wouldn’t stop raving about our food! So glad that they were all so happy with it, because I was worried it wouldn’t be “enough” but everyone said they were absolutely stuffed and stunned, that it was the best reception food they’ve ever eaten. We ordered sheet cakes (chocolate and marble) but skipped the traditional decorative cake. We didn’t have one guest ask us about it…so obviously no one missed it!
At the head table with our babes (making a funny face!):
We had planned to choreograph a first dance, and we figured most of it out, but never had a hcance to practice it. So when the day came we kind of just winged it! We did do a few dips and spins and one major lift but it wasn’t nearly what we’d planned to do. Even so, many of our guests said it was the best first dance ever!

We had a fauxtobooth with chalkboards, mustaches on a stick, and silly hats:
