And like me, it was wacky.
Lemme see. First thing was my macaw, Elvis, had a bit of difficulty getting into his travel cage for the prep for the big trip 12 minutes away to T’s (our house) place and he refused to go in. So he instead climbed onto my shoulder pirate style, which is something usual for him, but then one of the movers popped their head in and Elvis went nuts and began climbing on top of my head and he refused to get off of my head. I had a bird on my head for about 30 minutes. Not fun but poor little guy was only scared.
He’s fine now. Sitting beside me awaiting the big trip tonight. He’s enjoying some mango in his cage.
Big stuff just arrived at the house, and T’s putting furniture in place and I’m at my house finishing things up.
We won’t be done until tomorrow night. Finishing up kitchen packing right now and typing with laptop actually on my lap as my desk and office furniture are already there!
So…tonight is the FIRST NIGHT that T and I will be under the same roof living.
His parents (FIL’s) are awesome! They’ve been at the house all day and went grocery shopping for us earlier so we’d have food and snacks when we got there. They’re being super helpful and supportive. To be as traditional as they are, they’re not freaking out that we will be living together for a two months before the wedding. They agree it’s important to have my son there first, make new friends in the subdivision and everything like that.
I’m going to sign off now for a bit, as I am going to take my son to the big party they’re having at the pool for the last day of school. Btw, my son graduated from elementary school today and got a few awards too! He was so cute (from 5th grade; middle school next fall).
So goes the last day of my single girl-dom forever. Tonight I have to figure out how to sleep on my side of the bed, when my side of the bed is actually HIS side of the bed!
Hugs everybody 🙂
