I am Muslim and although I don’t really celebrate Christmas I love the holidays and this time of the year as I have been accustomed to it as an Arab-American; I think this article is very informative to those who do not know much about Muslims and what they believe about Jesus.

Really interesting! I had no idea this story appeared in the Koran.
I wonder how the story of Jesus relates to many stories in earlier religions where gods routinely fell in love with and impregnated moral women. Any Biblical/Religion scholars on the bee?

Beautiful verses! I was born and raised in an Islamic country, but have been a Christian most of my life. The Quran was in Arabic, so non-Muslims never had the chance to read the verses.
I have always believed that no matter the religion, we should walk side by side with one another as we all believe in the Golden Rule, phrased in many different languages. I agree with the views of the new Pope Francis; he hopes that Muslims and Christians would embrace each other; not go in war against each other over differences. (Prophet versus saviour; potay-to, potah-to)

@MissAly: Thanks for sharing. I knew he was a prophet in the Muslim faith, and that there was a story of his birth, but I had never read it.

Thanks for sharing. I’m embarrassed to admit I am not as well educated on religions as I would like, so I always enjoy the chance to learn something like this. I find it very interesting the way religions intersect, seeing different versions or views on the same events/people.

Commenting mostly to say that I find Francis awesome…
I have read this before, but it has been a while! The last time I read it was during a debate about Islamic Marion reverence, actually!
