I’m hoping someone can give me some advice on this one. I went bridesmaid dress shopping with 5 out of 8 of my girls this weekend and was lucky enough that they ALL loved one dress with in 15 minutes of shopping (and I LOVE it as well). It’s a Da Vinci dress (style 60014):
My colors are black, white, and Tiffany blue, but the dress will be black with the flowers on the strap in the Tiffany blue (having those made to match the blue I’m using). The problem is the price. It’s $200, which the girls that were with me say is fine, but the girls that couldn’t make it have a problem with that (understood since one is also a bride-to-be, the other is a non-working college student). Especially since that’s before alterations.
I found a few websites that offer the dress for about $150 (some more, some less), but I’m very weary about buying online. Anyone have any advice? Know of another designer that has a similar dress for less? Or maybe a good website you’ve bought from?

That dress is similar, and it’s $150, which isn’t much less but it’s something. You could also wait and see if it goes on sale (although if and when it does, your girls either need to be willing to pull the trigger within a day or two of each other, or you need to be willing to order them all together and get paid back later).

Have you looked at dresses without the fabric flowers? You could then add fabric flowers that pin on or DIY them at a lower cost. Even have them as a hair accessory even. You can always have a similar look without spending so much. Or just have you Maid/Matron of Honor wear flowers.

Thanks girls! I did have my girls try on the dress at David’s, but it didn’t fit them the same and the fabric wasn’t as nice. I told them it was their call and they all said they’d prefer the other one. I felt the same since the DaVinci dress looked as great on a size 14 as it did on a size 2!
We did find it online for $133:
The girls seem fine with ordering online, but I don’t know much about ordering dresses online. Any experiances with that?
I think I agree though, if they really all love that dress, they might just have to grin and bear the cost. They do have over a year before the wedding…at least that’s what I keep repeating to make myself feel better! =)
