As a person who is half-Italian American (fair skin, lots of dark hair), I spend a ridiculous amount of time getting rid of it.  If anhyone wants a mustache, I will grow them in  24 hours flat:)

I think it’s just something cute to lighten up pictures a little bit, so they aren’t all posed and boring.  I have seen similar ones with giant lips on a stick.

And it in no way reminds me of women’s upper lip hair.  If they were putting on actual costume hair mustaches with a sticky back…maybe that would be weird.  But it’s not, it’s paper on a stick.

It’s one of those things that I think will look super dated soon.  It’s such a hipster trend right now to have mustaches on everything (tattoos on fingers, necklaces, etc)  It is pretty funny, in a sort of vaudeville way, but a little much for me.
