I’m going to agree with the PPs who think it sounds like “rape”…. sorry, OP, that was the first thing I thought of too. Never heard of the name.

How is it pronounced? Like “Rafi” or ” Rafa” or literally Rafe?

The only person I’ve known who went by Rafe was a guy who’s real name was Ralph Waldo Emerson (and yes, he was related to THE Ralph Waldo Emerson). Given the alternative, I thought Rafe was a nice nickname. ๐Ÿ™‚

Don’t really like it sorry.  It’s the name of a radio personality here and he’s an old, opinionated guy that looks like Santa ๐Ÿ™‚  That’s what it reminds me of.

It also kind of reminds me of “rape”, which is pretty awful ๐Ÿ™

I like it, but I don’t know if I would name my son Rafe.  There’s an educational author Rafe Esquith and that’s what I always think of.

I immediately think of Rafe from Days of Our Lives, haha. I’m indifferent to it (don’t hate it, don’t love it). If you love it – go for it!

Reminds me of rape. That’s what I thought it said when I first glanced at the thread title.

Don’t love it, but don’t hate it. Honestly, I had to look it up to see how it was pronounced since I had never seen it before. I think it also seems like it should be short for something.
