Alrighty ladies, here’s the deal:
I’m not a thin girl. Never have been. Never will be. However, I used to be in great shape (I mean I had abs-I kid you not). Midway through high school I lost the abs but was still in healthy shape. My first year of college I put on some pounds, but lost them my sophomore year during an exercise study I participated in.
Then I started nursing school. Nursing is such a funny field because all of us know what is good and healthy and what isn’t, yet nurses are some of the most overweight people in our population. Now I’m not saying I’ve ballooned up or anything, I’ve just lost my tone. Most of it in fact. My trouble spot used to be my arms, then my arms and my abdomen, now it’s my arms, abdomen, and thighs. Oh my…it seems things have gotten out of hand.
I realized the other day when the bf and I were ring shopping that I really don’t want to be squeezed uncomfortably into a dress for my wedding/engagement party. Then I thought “why am I OK with squeezing into my every-day clothes?”. Silly, right? So-it’s time to get to work on losing the weight.
I don’t want to be skinny and I don’t want to starve myself, I just want to be a healthy weight again. I know the areas I’ve got weight collecting could be bad-news-bears for me in the future (aka:heart disease, diabetes, and joint disorders just to name a few) and I don’t want to allow something like that to happen that’s perfectly preventable.
So-I’m going to work REALLY HARD on trying to lose weight, and if anyone is interested in joining in-you just come along for the ride-I’m more than happy to have as much support (and provide support) as I can get.
I don’t have a good exercise routine right now-and I was wondering if I could get some wonderful bee-help with some ideas. Thanks ladies!
