Hi Bees! I am looking into purchasing an Ipad and was looking for advice/experience.
I was just going to get the new ipad until i saw you can still get the ipad 2 for $200 cheaper. My question is, is it worth an extra $200 to get the newest version? Does anyone have an experience with both, how do they compare?
Also, I will be starting nursing school in the fall so let me know of any helpful apps 🙂

I dont have expereince with both, but I did order the new ipad several months back. I do love it! I did my research for the differences. I really wanted the retina display. I heard amazing things about it so I decided I had to have it and it is great. The camera is pretty good as well. Its also faster than the 2. It really depends on how much you intend to use it.

The main differences are the higher resolution screen and the better camera on the new iPad. We waited until the new one came out and then decided which. In the end, we decided to get a 64g iPad 2 for less than we could get the 32g new iPad for (purchased from Best Buy). The camera and screen weren’t important enough. I would rather have the larger hard-drive.
As for faster… I don’t really know but my iPad 2 is plenty fast. This is coming from someone who games and is used to very nice computers.

I don’t have experience with both but I got the ipad2 for my birthday and it does what i need it to do. The only drawback is the camera…its takes really great pictures in natural light but it doesnt have a flash so when taking picture indoors they turn out fuzzy. Personally i just use my iphone for pictures anyway and just use the cloud if i need them on my ipad. I’m really happy with my ipad2 🙂

I have an iPad 2 through work, and I have a friend who has the new iPad. The differences weren’t significant enought for me to fork over the cash for an upgrade ( especially since I have the wifi only model). I think if I were getting my first iPad, I would by the new one… Just so I don’t start out behind when the inevitable new one comes out. However, if money is tight, the savings outweigh the differences.

I have both. The iPad2 is mine and Darling Husband has the new iPad. If we were in the market to purchase another, we would absolutely go with the new iPad if for nothing else, resale value.
The main difference between the two is the retina display on the new iPad. The camera is a little better too but honestly, neither of us use our iPads for the camera so that’s never been a selling point for us. Beyond just those features, the 4g LTE has been awesome. We love that we can pay $20 p/month and have LTE coverage just about anywhere. It’s not a contract so you’re not billed every month. You choose when you want to activate it. We’ve had it active since we got the new iPad since Darling Husband uses LTE every day but for the average user, it’s not a necessity. We just like that we have it available when we need it which comes in very handy while traveling.

I don’t have the new one, and think it certainly looks fantastic, but I love my ipad2! 😀

Thanks ladies! I’m not to worried about the camera, I wonder if best buy still has both models, I could go test them both out! 🙂 Although I think i’m just going to stick with the 2…we’ll see! 🙂
