    @Kemi82Justice of the Peace: That is exactly what I envision doing as well!!!  I think it’s a great idea.  I prefer banquet style for many reasons–I like the way it looks, you can speak to people across from you, and I’m just not a fan of the sweetheart table.  I feel like the reason for a wedding reception is to share in the joy with our guests and I can’t really do that at a table on our own.

    As a guest, I would not necessarily be upset if I didn’t get to sit with my Fiance at a wedding because I am a social person, but I would much rather sit with him.  I just don’t think it’s fair to ask my friends who have traveled so far to attend our wedding and serve in the bridal party to sit without their SOs.  Maybe it’s because we are older and a lot of our wedding party are married.  I don’t know, I just feel weird saying, hey mr. groomsmen you get to sit at the head table and your wife will be across the room.

    I think it is a little strange to have spouses sit at the head table.  Can people not be apart from their significant others for one night?  Unless everyone knows eachother well, I would feel weird being at the head table unless I should be.
