I was curious as to how the wedding party is typically arranged when first walking down the aisle into the Ceremony. Is the maid of honor the first to walk down the aisle or should the Bridesmaid or Best Man who will stand farthest from the bride and groom walk in first? To me, it seems like the Maid/Matron of Honor should walk in first to establish her standing spot and it would easier for the rest of the BMs to take her spot rather than the "last" Bridesmaid or Best Man having to guestimate. I feel like this would also minimize any shuffling to adjust spacing or perhaps worset, no adjusting but awkwardly placed BMs. I wasn’t sure if there’s a standard. We will also do a rehearsal but I can see how it could still be easy for the "last" Bridesmaid or Best Man to to miscalculate her spot (outside ceremony).

Typically (or in all the weddings I’ve been in and been to) it goes…
Bridesmaid or Best Man on the outside
Maid/Matron of Honor
Bride (And father)
Are you having a rehearsal? This would let everyone get an idea of where they need to stand when they get up there to avoid a lot of shuffling.

I just read that it’s the farthest from you that walks first. Plus I see it as the closer the person is to you the more important. Ya know?

I had the person closest to me walk first with the groomsmean (according to height), then the ringbears, then the flowergirls, the Maid/Matron of Honor and then me

BMs and GMs are walking together, furthest from the center first. Then Maid/Matron of Honor and Best Man. The me and my daddy-o.

We did what Frenchie described, although my brother walked me down the aisle not dad. I’ve always seen it done this way, although that’s not to say you couldn’t try something else.

I’ve always seen the person furthest from the bride and groom go first, and Maid/Matron of Honor go last. But that doesn’t mean you can’t do it differently if you think it will look better!
