My daughter is getting married in Mn, where she is from but lives in Texas with her fiance. They have lived together for a few years and have everything they need and want, except money for honeymooning. They are registering for The Honeyfund in lieu of gifts. Question is… my family wants to give her a bridal shower but she needs nothing and lives in another state, so shipping it home is very expensive. She doesn’t want a lot of gifts she would have to take back to the stores either. So how do we do a shower without gifts. (she doesn’t cook either so a recipe shower is out)..
We don’t want to do anything tacky or improper, so HELP!!

Her hesitations are correct. A ‘shower’ is not appropriate if she does not wantphysical gifts. If your family really wants to host something perhaps they could do a ladies luncheon, and people can bring advice or recipes. The other option is a themed shower, like a stock the bar or kitchen, where she registers for small, portable gifts. Note that she is responsible for transporting the gifts to her home.

You could do a honey moon shower. Gifts could be lingerie, beach cover up, sandals, pashmina for the evening, sunscreen, sunglasses, pareo, etc
