We went ring shopping yesterday, and I was fully intending to walk out with this ring. There were some others I wanted to look at just in case, but this was my favorite by far. I’ve been drooling over this ring for months.
I tried it on, and it did absolutely nothing for me. Neither did my second choice. It was actually the ring that was at the bottom of my shortlist that I fell in love with.
The sample I tried on was about four sizes too small and had a white diamond side stone, but it still blew the rest of them out of the water.
I wish I had thought to take a picture of the box of itty pink diamonds too. I had a lot of fun looking at them through the loupe. They were so tiny and sparkly and perfect. I can’t wait to see one actually set in the ring. I don’t have any pictures of the center stone either. The one we ordered is 0.4ct, D color, VVS2, 3X H&C. I think the one in the sample was 0.3ct. And for anyone who wants this fun fact, hearts and arrows cuts are known as hearts and Cupid in Japan.
It’ll be about a month before I can have the actual ring. Guess I’ll just have to wear this fake diamond until then.

@joya_aspera: It’s pretty clever too. Arrow isn’t a word most Japanese people would know, but Cupid is.

@Birdi: Yes! Pink diamonds are amazing. I never thought they’d actually be an option since they’re so expensive, but a tiny one wasn’t out of the budget. It adds such a nice little spot of color. Like Mars hanging out next to a full moon.

Pink diamonds are rare! I have never seen one in real life. We have all seen tons and tons of white diamonds, but who has seen someone with a pink diamond? That is really special.

@bunnyharriet: This was the first time I had seen them in real life. I didn’t even realize they’d sparkle rainbows the same way white stones do.

@Jabberwocky: Beautiful choice! I am also a fan of colored diamonds and recently my mom got me a blue and white diamond necklace for my something blue at our wedding. Pink ones are awesome too. Your setting is elegant and unique with that lovely pink diamond accent.
I have a roughly .4ct center stone too, and love it! You will too!
Also, your fake diamond totally cracked me up!!! LoL!
