Pockets were something I wanted in a wedding dress since I bought a formal for an AIDS benefit that mom & I have helped with for 20 years. I dont remember any other dress but that one to a tee… & it had pockets. Ive been obsessed ever since.
The first wedding dress I bought didnt have pockets & I actually picked it over one that did but later spotted this dress & traded which was my original vision. It was everything I wanted plus POCKETS!!!!!!
Heres my dress…

MORE DRESSES SHOULD HAVE POCKETS!!!!!!!!!!! I say we NEED them!!!! I would love to see yours & may I ask what will you put in your pockets?
I will have my vows, a hanky from my grandmother & Perricone No Lipstick Lipstick for starters.

i love your dress.
I tried on this dress and totally adored it. Alas, it was out of my tiny budget range but it was gorgeous and I loved the pockets. It’s by Jesus piero.

m2016: I tried on one very similar to this. A provinas dress.

I was trying on to see what suited me. This one also had pockets I think. The Jesus piero one was just amazing but I wasn’t allowed to take a photo though.
As my budget is small and it’s not a grand wedding I’ve gone for something more shapely and having it custom made in China for a much lower cost. I’m trying to convince myself my custom dress will look good on my shape and that these big dressss, although gorgeous required about 3 hoops and petticoats to make them look good and dragging that around all day and night would be a disadvantage. If money was no object though I would have picked the jesus piero one the big box pleat in the front was fabulous.
This is basically my new dress style but I’ve pinched a few ideas from these dresses. Like I’m having a removeable bateau neckline sheer topper. And buttons all the way down the train. I’m also having a bow belt that was like one of the Jesus piero ones. Oh and from trying these dresses on I found I loved the very long ribbon edged veil so that’s happening too. Due to the fitted shape there’s no pockets possible though.

Love love love me a dress with some pockets. All dresses should have pockets! At Christmas I wore a gold cocktail dress which had pockets. I had lipstick, eyeliner and tissues in it. And sometimes my hands 🙂

I had the Pronovias Dalia. I only discovered it had pockets when I got home at the end of my wedding day. I was mortified! I mean I wouldn’t have carried round loads of stuff in them but a tissue would have been handy! I would have been afraid to carry any kind of makeup in case it somehow leaked onto my dress!

m2016: that’s really sweet thanks as I’m feeling a bit worried about it. If it’s of any interested I posted an update here. You’ll see what I mean in that thread about the waist looking huge compared to what I thought I looked like!

One of the dresses I almost bought had pockets, it was my favorite part of the dress!
