Oh my! Since your wedding is coming, I probably would not wait for USPS to sort things out if the ring is not found today or by tomorrow. I would order a new band and sort the rest out without worrying about added pressure of finding or having a ring for your wedding! Then let USPS sort things out in the background.

This is not the same thing at all, but I wanted to share in the shipping frustrations. I was expecting a package yesterday too (my new rings) and instead I have been dealing with FedEx & customs clearance all day yesterday and this morning. They finally cleared customs-, but looks like they are not going to be coming until tomorrow. On top of that, the vendor never gave me my tracking number and forgot it at work over the weekend, so I could have found out the whole customs fiasco way earlier to get it sorted out so delivery could happen yesterday or today, but nope. instead it will be about a week since they were shipped before I get them, and all told it has taken about two weeks longer to get them than I was supposed too. Sigh. Very frustrating!

I had this happen to me. It appeared a couple of days later without explanation.  Put a sign up in your complex too. Good luck

If you bought it with credit card, you may have some sort of insurance through them to cover a replacement. Hopefully the original turns up!

@Macintosh:  You could put up a sign without identifying the contents.

I would probably contact the seller if it does not turn up tonight or tomorrow.

I hope you find it! This is horrible. I’m soo sorry it has happened to close to your wedding, you do not need this extra stress!

Darling Husband ordered a book for school from Amazon.  He needed that book to get started on his reading assignments for the semester.  Fed Ex lost it and their solution to the problem was for us to contact the seller and have them send another one.  I guess because it was never delivered.  Because time was of the essence, Darling Husband bought an expensive new copy at the bookstore on campus.  The book did eventually show up at our front door weeks later, in terrible condition.  I suggest you get a very inexpensive stand-in ring for your wedding.  Give the ring a few weeks to show up.  If it doesn’t, then purchase something you really want.  I guess this is why they ask if you want insurance for your package!

I would definitely put up a sign in the lobby…it’s possible the person who got it already returned it and it’s been shipped back to the seller…but it’s worth posting something and finding out.

We have mail issues all the time…I live at xxx Oakridge Drive in my town and there’s an identical street number on Oak Ridge Lane in our town and I get their mail all the time.  I think we got about half of their x-mas presents this year and I hand delivered them, and found out they had received a few shipments of mine but sent them back through the post office…they didn’t know there was an Oakridge Drive right down the street.

I had that happen – turns out the mailman scanned the package while in the truck but never delivered it.  It came the next day.
