@stephanie63087: I think that one of the best things to do is start charting your cycles or keeping track of everything, like you are starting do. If you just came off BC, then your cycles can be kind of wacky because your body is still figuring things out. You can get OPK’s (Ovulation Prediction Kits) at any store. SOme like that ones that have lines that will get darker when you are closer to ovulating and some like the ones with smiley faces. I think it’s a personal choice. Also, I think it’s important to have something else to focus on so that TTC doesn’t envelope your whole being, which is easier said that done. Right now, my Hubby and I are going onto cycle #4 and I thought we would be a first timer. Granted, we are still within the time period of a ‘normal’ couple conceiving, but it gets frustrating when you feel like something is going on differently with your body, but it’s not why you think it is. I’ve taken some breaks from here even to avoid the stress that I felt because we haven’t conceived yet. Now, it doesn’t help that everyone around me has gotten pregnant without even trying, but I’m now at the point that I’m really happy for them. One even announced they were having a girl, which I’m wanting for us and I was hoping they would have a boy (crazy I know…that’s what TTC does to me), but when they announced it was a girl, I was honestly okay and happy for them. So, I know that I’m at the point I’m relaxing a bit on everything and just seeing what the holidays do for us. πŸ™‚ GOOD LUCK!!!!!

@MrsMaine:  Wow, I cannot believe how wacky your situation is!  I’m happy you are getting another blood test on Thursday.  I can imagine how tough it is for you right now.  I’m praying for a miracle for you Maine, I really am!

@stephanie63087:  I started by downloading an app to my phone and I tracked my period.  My doctor said as long as period was coming within a week of when it was supposed to then I was regular and not having problems.  I tracked for almost two years before TTC and I had cycles that ranged from 26 days to 30 days.  So if your cycles are only a couple days apart here or there then that’s a good thing!  The program I downloaded also pinpointed my fertile window and ovulation date.  I think there are online programs you can use, but I never used any of them – I just stuck with my phone.  I did get the book “Taking Charge of Your Fertility” which was an interesting read and taught me a heck of a lot about cervical mucus.  lol.  As far as OPK’s, I got mine on Amazon and they were super cheap.  I didn’t use a lot of them though, because I get up really early for the gym most days and just didn’t have the energy to use them all the time.  And for what it’s worth, the month I got my BFP we BD’d at the very early part of my fertile time – like 4 or 5 days before ovulation.

@chrispygal: thanks!! i actually use an app called my days that does all that.

according to the app i am 6 dpo…. so i guess its a waiting game right now…. we bd’d twice within my ‘fertile time’ according to the app…. i need that book!!! sounds…. ermmm… interesting hehe

i guess its worth mentioning that i have also had a mc, last month actually. although i was only 4-5 weeks along… so my doc said its fine to start trying again. its just so frustrating and i feel sort of lost.

@stephanie63087:  oh wow, sorry about your miscarriage!  Did you actually have a BFP or did the miscarriage happen right around the time you were supposed to get your period?  The good news there is that you got pregnant and that was fairly early in the trying process!  I think you’ll be fine working off your app and just doing what you’ve been doing but that’s me – I’m pretty low key with this and felt that I wouldn’t worry until I got to the six or eight month mark.  That being said I had ordered the CBFM because I wanted to monitor whether or not I was dropping an egg because if that was the problem, I could tell my doctors right away and get right to some solutions.  So I had no patience to pee on the OPK’s but I was all gung ho for the fancy computer.  lol.  I was just worried that at my age I would have problems, but still relaxed about it all.  Does that make sense?  I never even had to open the package and actually just returned it today (and now am worried I just jinxed myself!).

@chrispygal: i actually didnt even know i was preggers till i called my doc bc of the bleeding…. it wasnt normal and it was ALOT (def not a period…)… and they told me to take a test and it was a faint positive πŸ™ it was a few days before i would have gotten my period.

you totally make sense! im kinda the same way…. i just want to know that everything is ‘right’ so i can relax and enjoy ttc πŸ™‚

@Mrs. Bonnie Blue: Thanks for always being such a cheerleader for me! This is probably the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. I just need a definite answer. I’ve been stuck in limbo for an inexplicable amount of time (I’m on CD58 right now!) and it’s really doing a number on me. I can’t focus on anything and I’m so sensitive. I cry at everything no matter how silly, just because everything seems like such a big feat to me right now. I’m always on the verge of tears. It’s so true what you say though… stranger things have happened!

@chrispygal: Thanks so much πŸ™‚ Glad to see you around these parts still!

The more I think about the possibility of this, the more nervous I get. Especially since right after we got the news of an impending miscarriage, I was so upset and not able to sleep, that I took Nyquil two nights in a row. Also took Advil once. Haven’t been as diligent with my caffeine intake since the news either (although I’d be nowhere near the daily limit, just one Diet Coke a day, but still.)

Is it Thursday yet?

@MrsMaine:  Oh honey, my heart goes out to you!  You need answers already and it seems as though it’s been a nonstop roller coaster of maybe it is, maybe it isn’t.  I’m really hoping this is all positive though and you get some good news on Thursday – goodness knows if anyone deserves it, it’s you!  As far as the Nyquil, Advil, and caffeine you’ve consumed the past few days, I wouldn’t worry about it.  You’ve only had small doses and that’s not likely to have any adverse effects – if one little dose of any of that stuff could seriously affect an early pregnancy, I think we’d have a lot more babies born with issues!  So make that one less thing to worry about.  πŸ™‚  I’ll be keeping you in my thoughts and hoping for the best for you!

@MrsMaine:  I’ve totally lost track of your story.  As far as I remember AF never showed up for you, right?  Just having a crazy long cycle with loads of pregnancy symptoms?  I know our timing was the same during my last TTW, but now I hopefully ovulated and am starting another TTW.  Anyways…have you given any thought to testing again at home?  I don’t think I could wait patiently til Thursday!  I’m thinking of you…

@bunnylovesbear: Hey you! No wonder you’ve lost track of my story – it’s been ALL OVER THE PLACE! I’m actually still stuck in our last cycle (CD58). It’s crazy to think you’re already in another TWW and I’m still up in the air! I actually got a positive blood test last week with an HCG of 12, and since I was so far along in my cycle, and the findings in the ultrasound, we concluded that I was on my way to miscarrying since the # was so low. I decided to go the natural route and have chosen to just wait to start bleeding on my own. However, yesterday and today my pregnancy symptoms came back full force. I’ve been nauseous as heck and having loads and loads of creamy CM, so now my mind is wondering if maybe I conceived a heck of a lot later than I had thought, and the blood test just showed an HCG of 12 because I was so so early on in the pregnancy. My appt. Thursday is to see if the # has increased or decreased. I have no physical symptoms of a miscarriage, not even cramping, so I’m very much in a state of limbo and facing the unknown. It’s so so hard not to get my hopes up. I absolutely refuse to POAS, because I wouldn’t even be able to handle it, and my RE thinks I’m one of the lucky ones who doesn’t get a + until very far into the pregnancy. Good luck to you in this TWW!

@Ree723: Thanks for your sweet comments. You also made me feel better about the Nyquil, etc. I think I just needed someone to say it to me! It has definitely been one heck of a rollercoaster. The hardest thing is I just can’t find any way to relax. Waiting until Thursday is going to be complete torture.

@MrsMaine:  Do not stress out about a little Nyquil, if what you are thinking is true, and it’s meant to be, a little Nyquil won’t change that.  I hope you get some answers at your next appointment.

@Mrs. Bonnie Blue: So frustrating. Today is day nine for me of highs, so I totally get it. Only I didn’t ovulate LAST month either, so this whole stupid situation is lame. At least you know it worked last time for you? That’s good!
