syc212004 :  can you wear it for a week and then decide? I would say stick with the larger one because of DSS or im your case, MSS ๐Ÿ™‚

syc212004 :  You purchased this from moissaniteco yes? was it a regularly priced item? are you able to return it?

syc212004 :   Rough call. I think for .49mm it is hardly worth the extra money and possibly getting a dud next time. This stone is really gorgeous. You might get one you don’t like as much. I say keep it. 8.5 to 9 is a very small diff. I’ve had both and depending on setting, the 8mm has looked as big as the 9mm.

syc212004 :  It REALLY depends on your comfort level with the current stone!!

I know that if I had a smaller diamond ring, and a beautiful moissanite ring that I felt was a little too large… I’d almost always reach for the smaller diamond ring because of the size of the moissy. In which case, all the $ spent on the moissy would have been wasted anyway.

IMO it makes more sense to spend the money on getting the right thing that you 100% love and know you will wear rather than save some money, but feel like you compromised and then never wear it.

The fact that you are here asking for opinions tells me that you feel it’s a little too large. if that’s true, then I think it makes sense to spend a little more to get the 8.5mm that you will feel more comfortable wearing.

In your shoes, I would probably gently wear it around the house for as long as the return window will allow, and see if the size doesn’t grow on you. There are plenty of ladies out there rocking 9 and even 10+ mm stones in “normal” everyday life!

Hmmm seeing your update – I’m not sure it’d be worth double to me to reduce the size by so little. It’s a beautiful stone that looks great on you – and actually looks a lot more similar to your inspo pics in the more recent perspective shots you posted!

syc212004 :  I think you’ll be more happy with that. I ordered loose cz to figure out mine, and I keep going back and forth between the 8mm and the 8.5mm. I think the 8mm is just better for me, personally. You may find the same ๐Ÿ™‚

I think your ring looks gorgeous OP!! Don’t change it! I love the h&a cut so much, I hope I can get my hands on an unbranded one some day ๐Ÿ™„ (the f1s are just plain overpriced imo).

It might seem big now, but it doesn’t LOOK too big for your hand, and seriously, shrinkage…

This is another sort of non visual chart to give you an idea of what going from 9-8.5 looks like in terms of numbers. Just thought it’s food for thought.

It gives you an idea of ring coverage percentage and stuff!
