    My thoughts…

The black one with the bow seems like it would overpower the dress. It looks ok in the stock photo, but I don’t think it would translate well in the real world. Imagine sitting with that on your hip… or having people hug you.

The skinny black sash with the ivory flowers is very pretty, but it might attract attention to you tummy, which you said you wanted to hide a bit. Skinny belts with form-fitting dresses are not forgiving at all.

I voted for the handmade tulle sash because your dress is so classic and pretty, it needs only minimal accessories. The texture of the tulle and flowers is a great complement to the lovely simplicity of your dress. You could also try something with a little sparkle…

I like the all-black sash BUT I think it wouldn’t work well IRL. Maybe it’s because I’m Type A but I would be obsessing over keeping it puffed up and artsy like it is in the picture and I think all the hugging/movement/etc. of the wedding day will squash it down or cause it to droop. I think out of all three, the last one will work the best since it has the flowy/romantic feel of your dress and is similar to the existing sash (compared to the other two). I agree with Miss Mauverick about a sparkly sash.

I would try one with bling but of the three I like the third!

I voted for #3/tulle but I think a beaded pearl sash would look really pretty, too.  Congrats on the dress!  I love VW!

ETA:  What about a plain black grosgrain or silk sash?  Then you would have the unexpected color, width you’re wanting, and simple design (not like #1).  Something like this:

White By Vera has new sashes that are for the fall collection. Maybe the black velvet would be stunning.

@nikstar:  Looks great!  I’m not a blingy-sash person either, so I understand not wanting one.  I also have a VW gown and really liked the black sash look at first (because of that picture above!), but I felt more ‘bridal’ with a ivory sash in the end.

I voted for the handmade tulle.  Just b/c I think the black will overwhelm the dress, the skinny black might not be enough of a statement, but I think the third is perfect!

Since your girls will be wearing pink, you might want to wear this sash, you will complement each other nicely 🙂

Pretty dress! I prefer the first sash.

Have you thought about getting a corset? My stomach stuck out a little too but my corset fixed that. I got the Hollywood Dream Corset from Fredericks of Hollywood for $64 but there’s lots of the dream corsets on Ebay for half of that.
