So while I was perusing the internet, I came across this bride and groom game-The Shoe Game. I hadn’t really considered playing a game at the reception, but I thought this might be fun. Basically, the bride and groom are seated back to back and they give eachother a shoe. Then, they are asked questions, such as who is the better driver, who is a better cook, who is the better dresser, who starts the arguments, etc. For each question, the bride and groom hold up a shoe to indicate their answer. You can read more about it at: http://www.rebekahhoyt.com/blog/2012/2/21/wedding-inspiration-the-shoe-game.html
Anyway, Here is my question. Do you think this would be fun and entertaining at the reception or do you think it’s corny? or is it cute and corny? LOL If you think it seems like a good idea, do you have any funny questions to add?

Did you watch “Four Weddings” today? That game was on there (I think). I voted no though b/c I wouldnt want to play any games at a reception. There are already enough times where the music stops and people have to watch something or whatever. However, only you know your guests and what they may enjoy.

I have seen it at weddings and enjoy it. I was on the fence for ours BUT our DJ facilitated it and he had GREAT questions. The entire room stopped and everyone was laughing along with us! We got some awesome photos from the game too! I say go for it.

We played it at our reception and it was a big hit. Our dj called it “the newlywed game” and played the theme music from the show. Everybody stopped and watched and we got a lot of compliments. I say play it, it was good times.

It’s a pretty common game at weddings in our area. Everyone seems to enjoy it. My Fiance and I aren’t going to be doing it, because I don’t think it would fit the feel of our wedding. We might do it at an engagement party or like shared shower or something. I think if you want to do it, go for it! I think it would be fun!

My friend had it at her reception and I honestly thought it would be the lamest thing ever. Turns out…it was hysterical!!
If you do go with it here’s my advice:
Make sure the question answer is a funny person – that can make or break the game
Wear cute shoes!
Try to have fun with it yourself and be playful… you’re pretty much putting on a show for your guests

we played this game at the rehearsal dinner. it was a fun way for everyone to get a better glimpse of us as a couple and helped break the ice between the boys and girls in the bridal party.
