That dress seems made for you!  And let’s not be so quick to judge that hat…😝

Seriously, congrats on finding your dress!

squirrelyone:  That all sounds amazing!! I’m so excited for you. I really do hope you’ll post pictures when it’s all done. Or better yet, video!: “Now if only I could find a local polka band who’ll do polka covers of Tenacious D songs, I’ll be all done!” <- I would pay money to see this.

squirrelyone:  I’m not super petite, but my dress was fate! I randomly tried on dresses a few weeks after getting engaged (I was there ordering the Bridesmaid or Best Man dress for my bff’s wedding) but the one I liked best and ticked all the boxes was more than I ideally wanted to spend, plus at that point we were almost 2 years away still.

When I went back for my fitting for that same wedding 8 months later, that dress was still there. Only it had been discontinued and the sample was for sale for 1/4 of the original price.

I went back 3 days later and purchased it.

Oh man you are so lucky, that dress is GORGEOUS! The details, lace, and train are beautiful.

Fellow shorty here at 5′. I’m a medium frame as well (it sounds like you are) and most of the time I can’t hardly fit into childrens clothing and yet petite clothing doesn’t fit me quite right either. Sleeves are usually too short and pants hems too long. Of course if I gain even 5lbs I can’t fit into any of my jeans, urgh!

Anyway to answer your question. Yes, I bought a dress on a whim at Target for $25 before I was even engaged. It looks very tinkerbell-ish in this picture but as we speak I am turning it into something captivating. At least I hope so. I have never sewed before in my life besides simple repair stitches by hand. I am crazy! The fabric/beads in addition to the dress totals about $125.
