elderbee :  I usually don’t care about celeb baby news but when I heard it announced on the radio yesterday, I went aww that’s nice for them!

I remember seeing a video posted of Harry a few years ago where the young daughter of his friend was eating his popcorn at a sports game. It made me laugh and you could really see the affinity he has with kids. A lot of men, especially non dads in that age bracket don’t quite know how to interact with kids or care to. He seemed to enjoy the interaction and saw the fun in it! I thought it was very sweet and I’m sure they are both super excited at welcoming their first! He strikes me as someone who will enjoy telling dad jokes and eliciting groans of embarrassment from his kids! ๐Ÿ˜œ

I’m just afraid because they’re due in spring, and I’m due in spring, I’m afraid of royal baby is totally going to steal my baby thunder. Like, couldn’t they have waited till summer or something? Or better yet, a full year after my baby is born? Don’t I get all of 2019? ๐Ÿ˜

Sorry, I couldn’t help myself when I saw she and I are around the same week! I think that’s really sweet and am happy for them. ๐Ÿ™‚

When is she due? All I’ve heard is “spring”, which to me is April or May.

Doesn’t that seem too early to announce before getting through the first trimester…or am I miscalculating something here?!

Apparently she is due at the end of April and has had her 12 week scan.

bethio :  Lol – I am due at the end of Jan and our top boys name has already been suggested as a possible name for the baby. I don’t want our babies to have the same name. Funnily enough, my mum had the same situation with me and Prince Harry. I was born the March before him and my mum was so worried he would be a girl as would likely have had the same name as me lol

I’m really happy for them, too. They seem so happy together and in love.

I think it’s great. The first thing I thought of was, given Meghan’s age, they started TTC as soon as possible, in case there were difficulties. But happily, there weren’t and they got preggers right away!

Like my niece, she got married last October, and had her baby July 30. Same reason, in case it took time.

bethio :

They should have at least asked you when they could start trying so they wouldn’t interfere with your baby news.

jayrock :  when I was due beginning of May I announced Halloween. So for an April baby seems right on time… my friends with April babies have all announced now.

Eta not that there should be a “too early” to announce. Miscarriage is nothing to be ashamed of or hidden if the mother doesn’t want to ๐Ÿ™‚

carolinabelle :  you’re right, I’m not saying it’s shameful but I know that the royal family is careful with information leaking!

Yes spring technically starts March 20 but where I live that’s still very much winter with snowstorms ha.

So excited! They both seem like they’ll make wonderful parents. I did assume they’d try right away given Meghan’s age and am glad to see it seems like everything worked out.
