- Wedding: May 2010
I went to an outdoor wedding this past weekend, where the wedding was held nearby and the reception was at the groom’s parents’ home. The bride was wearing a tea-length (and very beautiful!!) wedding dress, and the men were dressed in khaki slacks with dark green button up shirts…obviously no one was given the memo on the attire of the wedding party, because lots of the men showed up in green colored shirts. But my favorite part was after the ceremony, a little girl (probably 4 years old) tugged on her mom’s arm and said, “Mommy, is that another bride getting married today?” pointing at a girl wearing a shorter, partly-white patterned dress. The mom was obviously horrified at her daughter’s remark and whisked her away into private very quickly!
After all the talk and discussion about the dresses and colors that people wear to weddings, this just made me laugh! The partly-white patterned dress did not look ANYTHING like a wedding dress, nor would any adult mistake it for one, but kids just think on a very different wavelength!
