Chair Covers AND ties, they work wonders on a room 🙂

This is the tightest poll I’ve ever seen…!!!  In my opinion, you really should change the chairs – either the covers or the folding white chairs would be just fine, but if the money is there for the splurge, go for it! Those blue chairs are just plain ugly – and no, nobody is going to say “OMG, did you see those chairs that she had? How ugly!!” but they might say “Wow that place looked so amazing with those nice chairs!!” instead…. depends on how important the overall ‘look’ is to you…

Personally, I think as soon as the room is decorated and full of people, the chairs are invisible. I’ve been to many weddings at venues of various price levels and do not remember a chair from a single one. If you absolutely can’t live with them the way they are, go with one of the cheaper options and spend the rest of the $ on something people will really remember!

If it can fit in your budget, I’d definitely go with the fancy chairs. If you go with one of the more affordable options, I would do the covers. But I wouldn’t leave the chairs as-is

Wow – can’t believe how close all of the options are!  If you can’t afford the Chiavari chairs and you hate chair covers, then I would go with the white folding chairs.  At least they will be uniform and blend into the room a little nicer than the blue.

I agree that $10/chair is high for Chiavaris…I mostly see the rentals for $6/chair here in Canada.

OMG the poll is ridiculous… who would have thought CHAIRS could be such a divisive issue? LOL

In response to those who said no one would notice… I would.  And I notice shabby curtains, acoustic tile ceilings, rubber baseboards etc… etc… but I may be in the minority.

I would never judge abride harshly for overlooking those details, but if it were MY wedding I would not want to look back at pictures and see those chairs.  It would be the first thing my eye would go to and it would irritate me for a long time.

Bottom line is, it doesn’t matter if you think your guests will notice (I’m sure plenty of people would not, nor would they notice purposeful details like bunting, or hand-lettered signs, or up-lighting), but if YOU’RE going to notice it, and it’s going to bother YOU… change/cover them.

When all is said and done, I highly doubt anyone will walk away from your wedding saying “OMG did you see those chairs? They are so dar…what was she thinking!”. I think your guests will be more focused on YOU and your groom…so if it were me? I’d stick with what you ahve and spend what you save by not renting on something else you want.

The chairs are fine. No one is going to notice or care. Chiavari chairs are incredibly uncomfortable anyway.

@alex88:  When I was researching prices for my wedding, I found several companies in the Toronto (and surrounding) area that rented them out for around $6/chair.  The company I almost went with offered them for $6.95/chair and that included the cushion.  Many of them were smaller local party rental companies.  Too bad that it’s so far from you! I can’t believe the price point for a chair…seems ridiculous.

What if you added some chair ties with ribbon around the loop at the top. You could make those chairs really pretty.

Something like this in your colors and chair of course. I like the flowers added to the decoration.

Oh and don’t get the Chiavari chairs eventhough that’s what’s in my picture. They’re so effing uncomfortable and your guests will be squirming in minutes. I like those blue chairs (so long as the color matches) with a little decoration to spruce it up.
