When I found my wedding dress, my mom and bridesmaids took pictures. From the front, I looked wonderful. From the side… well, not so much.

Enter: Jillian Michaels!

I just my first day. And it turns out – surprise, yo! – I’m totally out of shape. I can already feel where my arms are going to be sore tomorrow, though, which is a good thing. And my legs feel a bit wobbly too, indicating that they did some work. I don’t much enjoy the hassle of driving out the the gym and huffing and puffing in front of fit people, so I’m excited about this!

Level 2, day 2 done.  Not really sore anywhere.  Those crow pushups are rough, but I find the 2 minutes of cardio alternating plank jacks with mountain climbers to be worse.  Anyone found any solutions for wrist pain while in any plank position?  I know I hyper-extend all my joints, so i’m not surprised when my elbow or knees hurt when they’re extended, but half the time I can’t continue in plank because of the pressure on my wrists….

I’m seeing some results.  I took measurements 2 days into level 1, so we’ll see what they are officially, but I feel like everything is a little tighter, a little firmer, a little smaller.  At least that’s what I keep telling myself.  I’m that girl who thinks she’s smaller than she is until she looks at a picture or looks in the mirror…. and now when I imagine what I look like (high school and college from 10-15 years ago) is what I’m actually starting to look like!  Always good signs.

Exactly 30 days from today I’m getting married!!!!!!

So I didn’t work out Thursday through Sunday, and on Monday I somehow weighed about 2 pounds less than my last weigh-in last week even though I ate and drank badly over the weekend. Figures I would only see numeric results when I don’t work out, and not budge while I’m working out 5 or more days a week!

But anyway, yes

@7SEVENJ9: there is something so sneaky about level 4! Even after my little hiatus my quads were still hurting, but the good hurt of course.

@sarasouth: I was the same way. I thought I was strong when I started, and then Jillian proved me wrong. Then when I started week 2, I once again thought I was strong, but she proved me wrong again. Same thing on weeks 3 and 4! Proves she is just really working all the different muscle groups

So I tried the using my weights during plank moves instead of being on my wrists.  The pain just moved from my wrists, to my palms.  Apparently I’m hopeless. Did L2, D3 today.  It wasn’t my best effort; I wasn’t feeling it.  But I did it and I’m glad I did it and I just kept repeating: wedding day pictures, high school friends, college friends, wedding day pictures.  ๐Ÿ™‚  Amazing what a little natural friend rivalry will do for motivation…. I better look better than she did at her wedding!  ๐Ÿ™‚

DAMN, girl!  You look HOT!  Don’t you just love Jillian workouts??

I’ve been bad about ripping this week ๐Ÿ™  I’ve only done level 4 twice.  I have still worked out everyday, though!  (I rotate between NMTZ and BFBM in the mornings.)   So, not off the wagon yet!  I’ve just realized that working out twice a day is kinda nuts and not sustainable long-term.

(But I still like to RIP with the hubs when he does it 2x a week.  He’s a Jillian fan, too.)
