Im on Level 1, day 3, which I just finfished this morning.  One thing is I cannot get through the side lunges with arm raises.  I have no clue why this is sooooooo hard for me.  Do you guys have any tips for this one?  I can barely do 4 of them, yikes.

Hey ladies! I need your opinion on how “knee heavy” the Ripped series is.
I couldn’t do level 2 of 30DS because of how knee intensive (twisting at them at least) it was, even doing 1/4 of it had me limping for a little while. I screwed up my knee royally last year and despite PT it’s never going to be 100% (though it was really at 80 before anyway because joint issues). While I’m marching 6-15 hours a week (depending if it’s a home or away week) for next couple months I’d like to do something more about the honeymoon weight I put on.

Thoughts? Suggestions for a less knee instensive workout?

@7SEVENJ9: Great thanks! Yoga is usually pretty easy on my knees (when DH was trying P90X I did the yoga with him and that went fine)

@7SEVENJ9: Thanks, I am actually using 3 lb weights, haha.   Am I the only one who is a failure at this portion, lol.

@Aubergold: No…. you’re not the only one who fails at it.  I hated that move.  But, as 7Seven says, it gets easier.  If you’re feeling pain in your elbows, your weight is too heavy.  If it’s just hard, suck it up.  ๐Ÿ™‚  It is a hard move and you just got to breathe and focus on your reasons: strapless dress, bikini, pure accomplishment.  You’ll improve if you keep at it.

I took the weekend off, per usual. Granted, we took a 2 hour dance class and went on a hike, but no formal working out.  Back on the wagon today for W2,D4.  Then on to week 3 tomorrow.  I get too bored after 4 days of anything, apparently.

@Knubbsy-Wubbsy:  When I was finishing my workout just now, I remembered how awful JM’s post-workout stretches are.  I pretty much ignore her cool down. I have knee problems mostly because I have hip and feet problems and they’re all connected. I find that doing a runner’s world post run yoga routine has been the most effective to keep pain away.  It’s a free video on their website; it’s like 6 poses that you hold for about 10 secs each.  I’ve done a bunch of their injury prevention exercises and they’ve all been very helpful.  It might take the edge off a workout.

7SEVEN… I’m glad to know I’m not the only exercise ADD’er.  I looked at your new challenge… interesting.  But I still have 2 more weeks of Ripped… and I don’t know; sometimes JM just annoys me and I have to take a break from her too.  ๐Ÿ™‚  Have you done insanity or fire/heat fire?  Those are pretty awesome too.  And a nice break from JM.

I haven’t been doing to workout. It gets so boring doing the same thing everyday. I have been working out and dancing/jumping around the house. I know I should be doing it but I get tired of listening to her say the same things. Maybe I start a new week today.
