Not that I already haven’t been waiting FOREVER!
But we both said we wouldn’t get engaged until we lived together first. Anddddd we are signing a lease TODAY!
So even though I conidered myself “waiting” a long time ago…I guess this just makes it official! AH!
Also if I have to see one more “friend” on facebook who is a) younger than me, b) dating their SO for a shorter time than me, c) etc, etc, etc, change their relationship status to engaged…I will delete my whole facebook, I swear!! (apparently this was a good weekend to propose because there were like 3 in one day!)

Woo hoo! Congrats! Happy to see things are moving in the right direction for you!
Also, I know how you feel about the whole facebook thing. I know it’s hard, but just try to focus on the wonderful things that are happening in your relationship. . .that sometimes helps me. . .or at least I try hard to tell myself it does! Lol.
Congrats once again!

I’ve been with my bf a long time (living together almost 3 years) but don’t consider myself officially waiting. I’m not sure what would put me officially on the list. I have a feeling I’ll skip it all together knowing me.

WooHoo, congrats on moving in together and joining our Waiting team; it’s always great when things feel more official, lol! I also had an old friend on FB announce her engagement a few days ago, and a little part of me shriveled up inside because I wanted it to be me, but I’m happy for her. Our days will come soon!

@UmakeURownLUCK: Congrats!! OOOO that’s so exciting!! Keep us posted for sure!!
Oh, and the whole facebook thing… I hear ya there. I DREAD opening up my facebook account in the summer months cuz you KNOW there’s at least one person who got engaged… And they’re always younger than you, or haven’t been dating their b/f very long, etc… Facebook can be so evil sometimes. My cousin (who’s 26 yrs. old) emailed me announcing her pregnancy. Our family is close, so for her to do that via facebook… Very rude. And I was upset for DAYS afterwards.

Yeah, Facebook is a horrible, cruel website that rubs salt in the wounds of the waiting. But I loooooove it and am addicted to it, so I will keep my page and tell them all congrats like a nice girl while secretly hoping it all falls apart (not really).
But…congrats on moving in together and the new place and all that! Enjoy living together!

Yay for taking steps forward! Enjoy the process of moving in – for us, it was a definite adjustment with some bumps along the way, but it was also really fun starting to build a home together. And I’m with you on the Facebook thing! I had two college friends get engaged this weekend – it’s been terrible lately (or wonderful, I guess, depending on your POV…whatevs). I went to a catholic women’s college, so there are so many people I knew at school who got engaged either at the end of school or immediately after (“ring by spring” was a legitimate goal for a lot of ladies).
