after months of planning… trying to get things within the budget… worrying about what other people might think etc we have decided NO WEDDING… no more beautiful wedding in the gardens.. no more expensive stuff that really doesn’t mean anything like the flowers and the dress and pink coloured jelly beans LOL
We have decided to go to Vegas 😀 WOOOOOOOO!!! We are going to do our honeymoon and wedding in one go!!! so far there are 5 place that we will be travelling to – Christchurch NZ to pick our rings (see family too) then washington, then Las Vegas, then California DISNEYLAND WOOOOOOOO then Ontario….
Does anyone from America have any suggestions on places that would be good for a couple who haven’t travelled before to visit?
We decided this on the weekend… i couldn’t be more happier… I’ve always wanted to travel….my partner on the other hand isn’t interested in travelling… as soon as he said "hey what would you say to a vegas wedding?" at first i was like eww… but then we started looking into it and the prices are perfect and then he was like "if we do that we can go here and here and here" and i was like OMG YOU WANNA DO SOME TRAVELLING YAY!!
LOL i’m breaking the news to my parents sometime this week HA!
I’m going to send in invitations earlier now… i’m still going to give people the option of coming or not 🙂 I spoke to my friend about it on the weekend and she was like OMG OMG OMG I’M SO COMING!!!!! Let me know as soon as you book everything so i can book mine! LOL
Hey did i mention i’m super excited… and super happy 🙂

wow! that’s awesome! i’m from ontario, and i would say the biggest tourist attraction around here is the CN tower. i’ve only been there for dinner (once) and the food was amazing!! but the tour is probably way overpriced, and not worth it. you can see the full view from the restaurant (it revolves around so you can see the whole city, and the Falls!). very romantic.. and beautiful too see at night. There’s also Niagara Falls…. not a whole lot to do their though, other than go on the boat beneathe the falls.
Anyways, hope that helps – have fun & congrats!!

Congrats! That’s super exciting! I don’t know places to recommend in Cali or out west really, only been a few times, but I’m sure some bees can help you out with that. If you make it to the east coast on your travels I will gladly give you some advice about Boston, NYC, etc!!

Congrats! Sounds like fun. Kelly Ripa got married in Vegas!
I just moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and I love it. You have the culture and fun of SF, Wine Country an hour north, great hiking and mountains all around and close to a lot of beaches and amusements.

After all this planning, I almost wished I went to Vegas to elope to get married. It’s just so much easier. Less hassle and less work for everyone all around. Good for you in taking that step. I think you’ll have a great time!

I know that nearly all the people on our old guest list won’t be able to afford to fly over to vegas but i still want to invite everyone that was going to be invited originally.

I know a lot of couples who have a destination wedding/elope iin Mexico opt to make it official in the US before going down because other wise I think you need to pay all of these fees and the cost just wasn’t worth it to them.

OMG!!!! YAY!! That sounds so EXCITING!! Congrats!!
As far as places to visit, since you’ll be in California, SAN DIEGO of course!!! It’s about a two hour drive from Anaheim. We have EVERYTHING!!

Ooooh yeah definitely check out the legal issues and what Australia requires in order for the marriage to be considered legal there.
As for travel spots in America, California wine country is beautiful and SO romantic. I’m from the US and my Napa Valley trip was the best vacation I’ve taken without leaving the country.
