    Lol. Pot, kettle, black.

Trump is a mess who killed thousands of people through his inaction and is now blaming someone else as usual.

I can’t even be bothered to go in to the dozens of ways he ignored their blatant advice and downplayed the virus, but if you fact check anything he is saying it is moslty straight out wrong or very misleading.

The WHO offered tests, which our government declined, and our president admitted today that he didn’t bother reading the January briefings about COVID that he was given because he didn’t want to.

I have no doubt that the WHO had many missteps, as any organization with such a broad scope would, but I’m guessing their employees at least bothered to read outbreak reports.

Trump has done such an abysmal job of handling this, and these reluctant efforts he is now making are too little, too late. He’s employing his favorite tactic to get off the hook for his own mistakes…deflect and blame.

Brideordie :  just a week or so ago he was wanting to open the country back up by Easter to pack the churches. Then he extended the social distancing until April 30th. And now he wants the sports to open back up again.

he seriously makes me dizzy. I’m not sure about the WHO, I’ll have to look into what they were saying before.

Trump swings from one side to the other, often times a few times during one week

Brideordie :  but… but… the president received briefings in JANUARY. And chose. Not. To. Read. Them. He has no one to blame but himself. What did he want them to do?

I’m not clicking either of your options.  I think the WHO had misteps for sure!

But Trump also refused to listen to anything anyone else had to say.  Theres a reason why other countries got control and slowed the spread more quickly than he did…

Brideordie :  Right… and do you have any information to back that up other than that’s what Trump said?

And the US didn’t exactly shut the borders straight away like he is claiming-  at least 430,000 people arrived in the US on direct flights from China since Jan 1, including nearly 40,000 in the two months after Trump imposed restrictions…

I guess I don’t understand how he can be upset with the WHO when he’s saying they did exactly what he has done.

I don’t support hypocrisy, he attacks everyone, I just don’t listen anymore

Brideordie :  So you’re now saying countries that have their borders open are slowing the spread, but the US isn’t… so why are you criticising WHO for saying leaving the borders open.

OH I just realised which user you are. Never mind.. go about your ranting

I think we need to get over the blame mentality. This virus is killing people and we want to make it someone’s fault. While I agree that some countries are handling it better than others, there is plenty of blame to go around. It is unprecedented, and no one got everything right.

But, no, I don’t think the WHO is beholden to China or would have changed their recommendations had the virus originated in Haiti. After the hoopla about SARS and MERS,  I understand the hesitancy to shut borders immediately.
