The WHO was ineffective and useless during this time

The WHO handled the crisis very well

He is just dying to deflect blame onto anyone else as usual, and so are his supporters.

Sure I think the WHO could have handled things better – hindsight is 20/20. But they didn’t completely drop the ball and WILLFULLY cause the deaths of probably hundreds of thousands of Americans, unlike a certain orange shit-nozzle. So I don’t really give a shit who he or his supporters are blaming this time.

mrsaime :  you’re right, I stand corrected. As always, headlines oversimplify and it’s easy to fall prey to their misleading summaries. The US decided to pursue it’s own tests instead of procuring the WHO tests, and the CDC-developed test was faulty. Though we could have procured the WHO tests, we have not, which is one of the key factors in our abysmal lack of testing and ultimate inability to get a true picture of our real numbers and try to head off the level this outbreak has reached. I’ll let Mr. “I won’t take responsibility” Trump off the hook for declining tests, but I will not let him off the hook for not pursuing avenues (provided by the WHO) to obtain more. While he bleats on and on about our “huge testing numbers”, I have family members who work in healthcare who have been exposed to confirmed cases, display symptoms, and cannot get tested.

The WHO was slow to act. Lots of entities were slow to act. But Trump is the only one who flat out ignored the scientific community and his own intelligence programs for weeks, lied repeatedly, and continues to shirk his responsibility. You may be gleefully thinking to yourself that Trump is calling the WHO out, but what he’s really doing is deflecting attention and blame away from himself (where it belongs) and onto a convenient scapegoat. He’s a coward and a fool.

I thought trump said “I really get this stuff, people are surprised that I get, they are like how are you so good at this? But I really get”, why did he even need WHO ? He refused to use their tests, then CDC tests were faulty, even the test we use now ha 66% sensitivity, so a negative test does not rule out the disease if pre test probability is high.

dianaj17 :  once again, the WHO never even offered. The US did not turn anything down nor could they have gotten the tests from the WHO.

Brideordie :  yeah I’m not American and Im definitely not a trump supporter by any means. However sometimes I do respect the fact he says stuff others are too scared to say – he definitely doesn’t communicate it the best way though.

Brideordie :  because nobody quotes Trump these days unless they either aren’t bothered by him, or downright like him, and frankly it’s a stretch of the imagination to say there’s anyone left who is neutral/not bothered by him.

But Trump is always looking to blame someone other than himself. He wants all the credit and no blame. So when he calls someone out for doing no better or worse than he’s done, it’s just disingenuous. It’s deflecting, and I’d like to see a leader who can work with what he’s got, and be where the buck stops. Trump is anything but a strong leader and him looking to place blame on the WHO is just another symptom of that.

I don’t see any other countries blaming WHO? Maybe that’ll tell you something?
