    @random7890:  LOL my fiance is the same way. He’s like “Oh, is that the wedding thing? Tell the girls I say “hello.”” Very sweet, but he clearly does not get how it is!

    It was only a bad proposal because of the poor relationship. Had that proposal gone down between a loving and healthy couple who wanted to get married then I think it could be perfectly romantic in its spontanaeity. Also, there are definitely worse stories than that, and some bees have even posted some. I personally don’t know any off the top of my head but I know I’ve heard worse from other people before.

    @SoccerChick86:  I think I have the worst proposal. My ex Boyfriend or Best Friend proposed to me after dating about 9 years (we had been together since high school) by telling me he had been offered  a job as a superintendant and they preferred that he be married. I turned him down, said I would think about it in 2 years and he replied “well its a good thing I didn’t get a ring.”

    I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around this thread. There clearly have been worse proposals, and dwelling on a poor, now defunct relationship and posting about it on a wedding website seems pretty strange to me.

    @Eight6Eleven:  +1!

    I dont get this…..her marriage lasted less than Kim Kardashians and shes on a wedding site posting about it? and from the sounds of it trying to blame it on the fact he got the wrong ring? im so confused….if the OP is real and not just a troll….she sounds selfish and a little off her rocker….she stayed engaged for 14 months KNOWING it was wrong and still went through the wedding, and stayed married for only two months? how weird is that?

    Here’s my issue… I just dont see the point of her posting on this website specifically. Are you getting married again? Remarried? Pregnant? Looking for dating support?

    If this is your intro for the site and you have nothing else productive than to write about your lackluster proposal that happened 3 years ago and eventually lead to divorce… then really I dont think we can be much help. Most of us are planning our weddings, having babies, or getting adjusted to marriage. Negative, it happened x amount of years ago, doesn’t help the community or yourself get over it.

    How about starting again with a “Hi Bees! My name is X, and I found this site when I ________. I’m a newly divoced girl, but I’m just here to mingle and meet new people.”

    The only person I feel sorry for in he OP’s story is the guy. I mean, he’s got a whiny, weeping woman on his hands who is nagging him about proposing, so he feels bad and tries to make her happy with the only ring he had available at that moment. (For all we know, he was planning some big romantic proposal later on, but just couldn’t stand to see her in distress.) All this for a woman who is only with him so she can afford her house and who led him on married him anyway, instead of just being honest with him up front. I’m glad he managed to get out of such a toxic, loveless relationship, even if he was duped into marrying her first. Poor guy.

    I am NOT even commenting on the OP’s obvious need for therapy/new job/back bone….

    BUT, I will say that is NOT the worse proposal….I had the WORSE PROPOSAL EVER

    My ex fiance took me to the CN Tower, to a fancy dinner (me expecting him to propose), then we went home…..We got home, he told me to look under the covers in our bed, I found a note that said to come back to the couch….I get there and he has the ring….he asks me to marry him…

    THEN

    He says he wants to have a “final fling”….yup, he asked me to marry him, then asked to F*CK someone else in the same breath….

    now THAT is the worse proposal…..and it was a cheap ass ring Innocent

    @Diamond84:  LOL I know, so thoughtful! lol he did get a HUGE (like 4ct+) emerald cut diamond that looks pretty much flawless, so I guess he thought that since the ring was so spectacular, the proposal didn’t have to be??
