Oh my gosh, that’s awful!!!! I think you’re absolutely doing the right thing to delete your registry there and go somewhere else. I’ve had amazing experiences with Crate & Barrel so far, I’d highly highly highly recommend them. Best of luck with your next one!

Yikes!  That’s ridiculous.  I’d scratch the entire registry.  Some of your guests will not have the patience/time/money to deal with that.  I’m shocked actually, that such a reputable company sucks that bad!

Whoa! That is definitely not cool. I’m really glad you posted this since I was considering having a registry with WS. If it’s creating this much of a headache just for you, I would hate to imagine the trouble your guests will have to go through. Deleting it and creating one elsewhere sounds like a smart move.

I’m so sorry you’re having this problem! I had some issues initially setting up my WS registry online and adding items, but I went into our local shop and they were VERY helpful. They actually set the registry up for me, showed me how to add items (both online and manually with the scan gun in the shop), and since then I haven’t had any issues.

They did say to avoid adding sale items to the registry because quantities are limited, and can vary between stores, so I didn’t do that.

Do you have a WS close to you? The people at the shop might be more helpful, if you are there in person (they also gave us a couple of free cookbooks – score!). Good luck!

I registered at WS and didn’t have any problems at all. I didn’t try to do things like monograms though so maybe that’s why.

We didnt’ have any problems with our WS registry, although some guests were able to find our registry items cheaper at other stores so we would just delete them from WS online when a guest alerted us that he/she had bought it at a discount elsewhere. I equate that to WS never really having any sales and charging top dollar for everything, esp. once it’s on a registry.

Wow…this is terrible…and remind me not to try Pottery Barn, either! My FH wanted this registry, but the WS closed near us and I talked him out of it. Have you looked at Amazon’s Universal Registry, myregistry.com, or wishpot.com?

they sound exactly like macy’s.  i had nothing but problems with macy’s too.  i’d delete your registry and go somewhere else.

On a slightly different note: I know a lot of people have had trouble with Target registry – buying/returning/damaged/exchanges etc.  But recently they changed their policy on registry gifts – now you can return anything purchased – no questions.  All you have to do is print (at home or in store kiosk) the list of purchased items and its 100% return.  No matter if it’s damaged or no box/packaging.  I thought it’d be a huge hassle but we walked out with a huge gift card!

I think it’s because of the combining of the home and regular WS store.  I set my registry up (just at the regular WS store) and haven’t had issues with it (other than some sku’s in store and different than what’s online) – so, viewing/buying online is different than if they were to go into the store (because a lot of the items in store aren’t available online).
