This was probably my worst…i’m sure it would look great on the right figure but it did nothing for me at all!

My dress

I think this is a very fun thread.

I dont even know why I tried on the first dress. I think my SIL picked it out at the time, and we had such a bust at David’s Bridal that I didn’t even take a picture of those dress (those were real train wrecks) but here are some photos I have of the ones I let my SIL take photos of

I just look at this dress and I think YUCK! It was not flattering on me at all

The best dress (that I loved the most in the store) was actually NOT the dress I wore for my wedding. I really wanted this Justin Alexander 8726- but when were were shopping (MARCH 2014) the bridal shop said that even if we paid the rush fees it could not be guarenteed in time for my wedding. Plus it was out of budget, and I wasn’t comfortable with my mom spending that much money. She offered to pay for an undisclosed portion of my dress.

This dress was that blush color

In the end I chose I Christina Wu 15469 as my wedding dress. Snagging it for just $600. My mom ended up paying for 1/2 as a compromise, because I didn’t want her to pay for it all. We both paid for it that day, and left with the store sample that fit me perfectly

I had the straps taken in, and a bustle added by my aunt who is a seamstress. I bought a light blue petticoat and wore it on my wedding. I ended up loosing about 10 lbs the 2 weeks before my wedding due to stress and anxiety but you know what I looked perfect in the dress I grew to love.

KelliQ513:  I love her too! She gets a bad rap on here about being trashy and what not, but I love my dress and think it’s far from that!

MrsGlover:  I think your dress is awesome.  You looked so beautiful on your wedding day.  So nice too to see a tradtional veil worn with a tradtional dress. And what a bargain!

LOVE this thread! And all of you definitely chose the right dress. Some of you even looked good in your “worst”.

Fun idea! The “worst” for me was the A-line style. Made me look so short and stubby.

I don’t even have a photo of the very worst dress because I didn’t even come out of the dressing room.

The second worst was this one, which I felt left me shapeless and bloblike.  I actually thought it looked good until I saw the photo.

These were the two best. Very different feels to them. I wanted something “different” yet classic so I chose the cleaner/simpler gown. I still love the second gown though – it felt like a party dress!
