@missclover: Their site is not user friendly, IMO. I have used the knot as a resource for many inspiration pics, but I used martha stewart’s checklist (and personalizing it). Have you seen the martha stewart wedding site? It’s a little less “busy”

I agree about the knot being scary. I unsubscribed because it was so overwhelming, and the boards there are so snarky. The Bee is a far better place to be. LOL Cool

I keep hearing about the knot being super snarky, but have never seen it. Well, then again, I’ve only used their boards for about 0.00046 seconds, so that may be why. Haha. I agree that it is not user friendly. I really don’t like how it is set up.

Anybody have any screen grabs of some The Knot snark? I’m super curious.

@Evie19: I use the checklist too.

But that is the only thing I do use as I agree there is too much information on there, I haven’t seen the boards but have heard they’re snarky.

Not a fan, but I’ve only used it for inspiration pics so far… it always seems super slow to load pages/navigate that site.

I find it very poorly designed.  How ironic that something that aims to simplify planning and help you create a beautiful wedding is disorganized and aesthetically unpleasing?!?

I also find the format of their message board extremely limiting.  I go there for my month board (I “met” those ladies before finding you lovely folks here!), but I’m constantly frustrated by the itty bitty message board columns and the fact that images must be uploaded from your computer and they show up as thumbnails.

Bless Wedding Bee for having such a nice format and allowng image sizes that actually let us see details when someone wants to share a picture!

it’s definitely overwhelming! it really is a LOT of information and to be honest it was helpful when i began but i don’t really go on there much more anymore. maybe to use the checklist or something but that’s it. the forums over there are horribly laid out and have that weird bar on top with the video that you can’t hide.. it just makes it awkward to read through. I don’t know if anyone is really snarky because i just haven’t read enough of their posts to get that but if they have a forum dedicated to snarky-ness then i’d have to say it’s true!

i used to go there back when i was just fantasizing about getting married. once i started to ACTUALLY plan a wedding, i found out that i couldn’t find anything out and the site is pretty much worthless except for inspiration.

I ONLY use them for the website tool, the guest list manager, and the checklist.  The website tool is great (I feel like it is very user friendly, actually), the guest list manager is a bit buggy but otherwise great, and yes, I agree that the checklist is full of unnecessary fluff, but I have about 3 checklists going to make sure I get everything anyway…

I NEVER go on the boards there.  Not only do I find them non-user friendly, but I also don’t find it a very welcoming environment.  Also, the website itself seems to promote lavish spending on stuff we don’t need.  I believe it recommended spending no less than, I think, $6,000 on flowers?  Pshh.  I spent $120 on fake flowers from JoAnns!
