I only posted once on there – it was a review of a venue where Fiance & I had attended a wedding & had a problem with one aspect of the hotel. We told friends of ours also getting married at the same hotel & she asked me to post what I told her so that she could ask the hotel coordinator about it & reference the site. I.Got.Flamed!

Never again. Except for the fact that our wedding website is on there & it’s free, I want nothing to do with that place.

Umm… what’s an SBY?

Welcome! I have a Knot account also but I never use it. I don’t like the convo as much and everyone else I know is on there from their weddings and I needed something different lol. Don’t let anyone be rude to you 🙂 You are very welcome here!

My city board (Las Vegas) on the Knot is fabulous… but the rest are insane – rude & just awful people. That’s why I came over to WeddingBee!

I love the Bee too! I feel like a lot of the women on the Knot are rude/hateful/you name it…

Plus WB is easier to navigate… better ideas… less ads… and no SUPER ANNOYING “Knot TV” playing at the top that I can’t turn off! Argh! haha

@ Melissa – my fiance hates the Knot too – he insists that it’s sexist.

I’ve never been on the message boards on the knot, except the classifieds. I just don’t particularly care for the site. When looking for inspiration, all of the “Knot Picks” are boring and have been done a million times. I personally don’t feel like they welcome a lot of “outside the box” ideas. Plus, I feel like they fuel the idea that weddings need to be ridiculously expensive.

I’m on The Knot, too–and no more bitchy there than here.  Wink  I think a lot of the issues are with the national boards.  If you stick with your month board, your local board, and any of the minority group boards you may be eligible for (second weddings, gay weddings, Jewish weddings, etc.), people are much nicer.

However, that is not to denigrate Wedding Bee.  I think each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

@mrssireci, it is actually possible to turn off Knot TV.  You’ll notice that what is in your address bar while on a Knot message board is something like:

If you take out the http://forums.theknot.com/default.aspx?path= part and just use the rest of it, you will get to the same page–but without the Knot TV.

@texaslawgirl, don’t feel bad.  I have no idea what an SBY is, either.

@Ex Libris, if you find a wedding site that is not sexist, let me know!  Every site I have found seems to start with the assumption that brides are obsessive about weddings, and that grooms are hardly even participants.  Since no groom was involved in my recent wedding, that wasn’t as annoying as it would otherwise be, but it was still annoying enough.
