ok bees. i am getting married on Sept. 22, 2012. I am not having a “theme”, but I was just curious as to what would be acceptable as far as colors for that time of year. I am pretty sure my wedding date is right on the edge of late summer/eary fall. When I think of fall, I think of warm, rich colors, but that is not necessarily the colors I want to use. I want my wedding to have a more romantic feel and have kinda pastel/light colors. i guess the look i am going for is shappy chic/sorta vintage-ish. light gray, light pinks, creams, and just colors like that. Do you guys think that would be “acceptable” for my wedding date?

Honestly, I don’t think there are any hard and fast rules about color. Some people think an autumn wedding requires fall colors, but I say– choose whatever colors you love! The colors you mentioned sound fabulous!

I think it sounds lovely. I don’t believe that everyone has to use gold, orange red etc at a fall wedding.
If you think about it, other than the bright fall foliage, a lot of fall garden colors are soft and faded as mother nature shuts down plants for the winter.

@julies1949: i never really thought about that. i know that when i think of september, i automatically think of fall and technically fall doesn’t start till around the end of the month so i did not know if it would be weird to go to a wedding with those colors when it can be considered a “fall” wedding
