- Wedding: August 2013
I am newly engaged, but planning a wedding in 8 months. I knew the ring was coming, so I started to plan a little early. No big purchases or anything like that, just getting some ideas of what I wanted down on paper.
The first purchase I made were antique brass style skeleton keys. I found a picture online that closely resembles the shape, but keep in mind it’s brass tone and they look new so they haven’t been antiqued or roughed up.
Now…… my dilemma is this, I’ve changed my theme. We found an amazing, super modern hotel and are now going for a modern geometric print theme. These are the invites, just so you can get an idea of the lines I’m thinking about.
I purchased the keys, and now don’t know what to do with them. They really don’t fit into a modern theme, and Fiance will kill me if I purchased something and didn’t use it, as he’s made it very clear no uneccessary purchases since we are on a strict budget. Do you think I can still use the keys as part of my escort cards….. or will it just look amiss? Maybe I can spray paint them in our colours (African Violet and Slate Grey) or even just give them a coat of metallic silver for a fresh look? So after this looooong post (sorry)….. what do you ladies think? Scrap ’em? Paint ’em? Other suggestion?
