No theme other than ‘wedding’.

I am. I am doing a Gothic Victorian Steampunk theme with my colors black, red and purple. Since I am renewing my vows on Halloween, it kinda just fits and then the reception will be a Halloween Ball.

@calico61979: “I may just pick things that Fiance and I like and just not worry about a theme.”

this is exactly what we’re doing….afterall, your wedding is a celebration of the love between the two of you….so it should reflect the two of you!!! for some, that means, having a theme…..In My Honest Opinion, it should reflect the two of you no matter how you decide to go about it 🙂

Themes are awesome, I think! We just started planning so I have a few themes in mind right now.

-Renaissance Masquerade (bold golds and reds)

-Rustic International Bohemian (reds and browns)

-Simple White Desert Farm (all white and cream)

What do you guys think?

My dress is going to be a corset like top with a very Victorian bustle bottom. I don’t have pics yet because I am making it myself but it will be black with a red underlay.

We’re doing the “obvious fall theme” and I am super excited about it. Nearly every element of our wedding is theme related. I dont want to toot my own horn but it’s going to be pretty badass. =)

Every party I’ve ever had has been a “theme” so of course my wedding is no exception. We are having a vintage Hollywood theme. Our colors are hot pink, navy, and silver. We both love history and old movies so it was a natural fit.

Our “theme” wasn’t a conscious choice when we started planning, but it emerged over time as we made decisions that are authentic to who we are. We are doing a “Eat, Drink, and Be Married” theme. It’s appropriate because we love to entertain at our home, cook together, and enjoy great wine and beer. The theme itself will be on our Save-The-Date Cards, and may make a re-appearance on our menu cards. But really, the day itself will embody it. We’re having cocktail hour with some amazing vodkas distilled by a local distillery that is owned by one of Mr. LK’s best friends, our dinner is 5 courses and each guest will be able to choose to receive a wine or beer pairing with each course, and our favors will be self-published cookbooks of our favorite recipes. Oh, and our envelope liners will be made of paper featuring vintage silverware images. So fun!

The theme is wedding.  🙂  I kid, I kid.  We’re just doing colors, which we still haven’t fully decided on.  I think champagne and ivory with a few pops of deep rich colors in the wine family is what we are going with.  We’re taking two ideas to the florist (one casual and one formal) in two weeks and which ever is cheaper we’ll go with.

i’m not having a theme because i have no idea what it would be…and secondly, i think it would drive me crazy trying to buy things to make it work…moreover, it would definitely lead to even more money spent than I could imagine…LOL Tongue out
