So we’re just over a year away… Does anyone have a theme? What are your colours?
Our wedding is the 15th, its also Flag Day here. 🙂 Both our flags are red and white (Canada and his home county of Cork). We chose those as our colours before realizing it was flag day (there will be one obligatory photo of us with our flags, just for fun.)
Aside from that there’s no real ‘theme’.

@sostobe we’re not having a theme really, just many different things that we like, held together by the color scheme. I think it’s working so far!

We aren’t really having a theme either. Early on in our planning process I was already tired of all the pinterest pins of weddings with themes out the wazoo. After a while it can start to get a little ridiculous.
However, I did want some personal touches and through that a few common threads started to emerge…music and food. You will see elements of both in the wedding but not EVERYWHERE you look.
In terms of our colour scheme, its fairly broad (as opposed to only two-three colours). This all stemmed from the bouquet in my profile picture. I fell in love with it in the first month of wedding planning (November 2012) and have yet to find something I like more.
Themes will emerge as you move along and things will come to you over time….and if they don’t, don’t sweat it because the theme can be WEDDING

No theme as such, kind of summery (it’ll be the end of summer where I live). Our colours are an aqua-y blue, a teal green and pops of yellow

Winter wonderland!! Lots of white, crystals, and owls!
Let the countdown begin…I’ll be getting married in exactly one year!! Eeek!!

@sostobe No theme for us either. We originally were thinking of a vintage library theme, but it just got too complicated and expensive. Instead we’re just going for understated elegance with lots of candles. We want a romantic, intimate vibe rather than a full-out theme.

We get married a year from tomorrow! So exciting! The countdown is on, indeed!!! 🙂
I think we’ve decided on a feel more than a theme. We want it to feel like a cozy winter dinner in the mountains (such as they are in Ontario)… with 150 of our closest family and friends. 😛 Everything we’ve chosen reflects the winter, outdoors, our love of skiing. We want kind of a chalet feel to the room,
I say we, but really its me. He doesn’t really care that much!

- Wedding: February 2015 - Mount Hermon
We’re not having a “theme” per se either, but all the colors are going to be in the “soft neutrals” family.
Which is a problem, because no one knows what the hell I mean by that.
Light colors, creams and ivorys and light tans is what I mean. With silver whenever something calls for a metalic color. And lavender flowers so that they stand out.
That’s the closest thing to a theme we have.

That’ll look gorgeous.
This is what I had in my head for centrepieces, pretty much all the decor is based from here an expanded. (We will add greenery and red berries to the base with the pinecones.)

I love your Centerpieces! Where did you get the parts for it?

The pinecones I collected like a crazy person. The latnerns are actually from dollarama ($3 ea) the mirrors are also from dollarama ($2 ea), as are the candles in the lantern ($1 ea) and the lights (the tea lights are not what we’ll be using, we have short, white candles, but I didn’t want to burn one for a trial photo, they’re from yummi candle (on sale.) Each centrepiece is less than $10. I’m going to stick some berries or something else in amongst the pinecones, but that’s the idea.
We have pinecones all over, on the cake stand, the escort cards are on a pinecone, they’re around the decor. I collected them, cleaned them up and they’re good to go. I like free!

In February we are having our small wedding ceremony with our pastor officiant, and in May we are having the celebration with family and friends. The theme for February is minimalist. We’re still having cake though :). It will also be Presidents Day, so maybe the secondary theme is Presidents.

If I had to label our theme, Contemporary Romance? Blush, Ivory and Grey with hints of Dusty Rose and Silver. I’m excited for it to all come together! Less than 6 months to go and I’ve only been planning a little over a month. Eek!
