Eh, its ok, but I think there’s tons of Kenny Chesney songs with more appropriate lyrics.

What were you thinking of using the song for? If it will just be on the playlist during dinner or something, it would probably be ok to play it.

I love that song! But I do not really picture it as a first dance song. It is just about a father and daughter, not a husband and wife type song. It is lovely, though πŸ™‚ what about another Kenny Chesney song?

I love that song, but honestly I probably wouldn’t have thought twice about playing it at my wedding. Just because it talks about how they’re a young couple, then she gets pregnant and “there goes my life”, and then talking about having a baby & whatnot. It is a very passionate song & is full of meaning, but I just don’t think of it as a happy wedding song. BUT it’s completely up to you. My favorite slow song for our wedding was Lady Antebellum “When You Got a Good Thing”, I think is what it’s called. LOVED it.

Ooooh, @Lees, I LOVE that Lady Antebellum song!!!! I tried soooo hard to get the mister to let that be our first dance song.  It definitely went on our must play list.

@Candy: I know girl!! I almost changed it to my first dance song, it’s SO beautiful!!!

& thank you @sept! It’s good to be back πŸ™‚ But I know what you mean, I see it that way too, I guess I just don’t see it as a wedding song…but I completely see your point of view. I think if you played it, it would be a wonderful song to dance to.

i love the song, but like the other bees, i agree that the lyrics aren’t really all that “happy” wedding like.

@sept: Yes I LOVE country!!! I’m addicted to it. I’d rather listen to that any time other than that rap crap! πŸ™‚

I don’t know.  My psycho mother in law wanted part of this song for her and my husband’s medley of songs dance.

She also wanted either “Momma told me not to come” or “Better shop around” as part of the medley.

So I would say no, because of what I had to deal with.

But for a first dance, maybe.  But then again, that song puts a sour taste in my mouth because of my Mother-In-Law.

i love that song. but its kind of sad and i dont think its very wedding appropriate. i do remember reading a post when i first joined the bee where a Future Mother-In-Law wanted a mixture of 3 songs as her mother-son dance, and that was on of them. it was awful sounding..haha.
