I understand…. We didn’t have a formal honeymoon.. we’ve taken trips to nearby cities atleast once a month… But all of our savings and money we put in a car. (we got married and moved to another country)…
For those who ask why we didn’t have a honeymoon or if we are… there’s no better response as to say “every day is a honeymoon with him” haha…
But seriously… sometimes it’s better to deal with the real things in life… than to force a honeymoon just because that’s how it’s supposed to go… I mean, we could’ve bought the car and pay it in 3-4 years on a loan… but I hate debt.
There will be tons of time for trips 🙂

Yes, DH’s 2002 Honda Civic died. Cost to repair it: STARTING at $4k. The car was worth $3-4k. We got $300 for the car and had to get him a new used car. That’s $400/month. We were not looking to get him a new car for 4-5 years. It’s a Honda, it’s supposed to be great and reliable right?
Darling Husband wears suits everyday for work. The seams started ripping out of his designer pants. The reason? He crouches down hard to pet our corgi several times a day and WILL NOT stop. There goes $1k for new suits on sale and $100 for repairs.

Well I’m glad to see I’m not the only one. We’re pretty set on still making the trip happen, since we figure if we don’t travel now before we buy a house, have kids, etc. we probably never will. Just going to take a few more cut backs than planned.
We actually are a bit lucky, in that if this did have to happen, it happened now. We have a secondary income that only pays out a few times a year and just got it (thus putting a bunch away for the trip). But if this had happened a month ago we wouldn’t have that and would have had to take money from some more immediate need.
