I ordered a replica dress, so I’ve had it in my possession for months now.
I’ve tried to be good about it, just leave it hanging in my closet, but I had to try it on for my mom, aunt, sisters, Maid/Matron of Honor…and then about 5 times just for myself. This is a terrible mistake.
Half the time I try it on, I am so happy with it and get giddy with thoughts about accessorizing.
The other half, I feel like I’m going to freak out and wish I had gotten a different dress. It hasn’t been altered yet, so all I see are the various imperfections.
I tried it on again today. It was one of the positive times, thank goodness.
My seamstress likes to only alter dresses once, and only 2-4 weeks ahead of time so that the bride can’t really lose that much more weight! I’m fine with her policy as she came very highly recommended and this allows her to keep costs low, but I’m not losing weight and I think I’m going to move my alterations appointment up so that I can see how it will look when it finally fits me.
If you have your dress, do not keep continually trying it on. Its a bad plan. 😉

Keep your dress off!!
Is there a very close friend who has a house you can hide it at..? or family?
Removing its presence might help with the temptation.

@the_future_mrs: lol. Very true. Out of sight, maybe not so much out of mind. I keep mind at my sister’s house with strict instructions not to let me have it until we go to get it taken in by the seamstress.

@the_future_mrs: Its actually already at my mother’s house…but I visit a lot and have no self control.
I probably should just take the feeling I got from it today and hold onto it! Also, I need to stop looking for the runner up dress on used sites…no good there.

While I am glad that I left my dress with the brial salon, I bought a sample of a very old dress. I am so paranoid that there was a mix-up and it found it’s way back to the sale rack and they sold it to someone else.
Totally ridiculous. But. I wish that I had it in my possession. At least you know where it is at all times! Is there a safe place outside of your home that you could keep it at? I am sure it is beautiful!
