Don’t get me wrong… I can’t wait to marry my Fiance, but I also can’t wait to be away with him for TWO WEEKS in Puerto Rico AND a Southern Caribbean Cruise as husband and wife!
We never anticipated a big wedding and although we’re paying for it, it certainly has turned into a bit of a production. I’m looking forward to the day, but mostly to just get this next phase of our lives going!
Anyone else out there?

I hear you. The wedding day is exciting for sure! But I am way more excited for the marriage. The honeymoon will be a great getaway, too, but I’m definitely just excited for us to begin our married life!

@csteen85: yes!! same here. I know our wedding will be amazing and fun, but I am SO EXCITED for our honeymoon! We are going on a two week vacation to Europe, and neither of us have ever been before so we are overwhelmed by all the awesome places we can go.

Starting our lives together aside, the honeymoon is what I’m looking forward to the most!

OMG…is it sad that I enjoyed the honeymoon more than I did our wedding? My mom was so awful during our entire process that I just couldn’t wait to get away from her and enjoy my new husband. It was beyond amazing. So I don’t blame you for looking forward to the honeymoon more! I did!

I had a countdown for my wedding, which was basically for my in-laws; and the honeymoon, which I was sooooooo looking forward too! I was so stressed out about the wedding. I was getting lectured about how the stupid chairs need to be pretty and how the food better be good, etc night and day from my Mother-In-Law and Father-In-Law.

Of course you’re excited! Two weeks of awesome vs. one day of awesome!

As an Encore Bride, I can tell you I don’t think there is a right or wrong in this equation.
My first Wedding, I looked forward to the actual Wedding, but ended up enjoying the Honeymoon more.
This time round…
I am looking forward to our amazing Honeymoon… but figuring that when all is said and done it will the Intimate Elopement / Destination Wedding that will bring tears to my eyes in the years to come
Partly because at this point in my life 50+ and 7 years in with Mr TTR… we’ve been on numerous great vacations together… not that this one won’t be special… but it is very much a normal thing for us to travel as we are semi-retired… vs when I was just 20-something the first time I got married (and my honeymoon was my first BIG vacation without my parents)
On the otherhand, an Elopement is a whole different thing from my first Wedding which was a family affair with tons of distractions just due to the size of it. I floated thru the whole day not feeling “in the present” very much. Sure I have nice memories, but not much significant where My Ex-Hubby and I had one-on-one time.
This time the Wedding Ceremony… is just about us, and the LOVE we share. Just the 2 of us staring into each others eyes saying our vows. I cannot wait !!
