So I’m taking a break whilst on honeymoon (yay lounging on the poolside in the lovely Punta Cana).
The ceremony was at 2pm, when we arrived at the hotel we were getting ready at, we learned that the hotel was selected for the random picketing that was happening all over Toronto. They were only letting one car in and one car out every 5 minutes. The hotel manager ended up piling me and my dress into his truck and driving me to the edge of the parking lot where it was just a short walk to my limo which was waiting out on the road.
My poor bridesmaid was still trapped inside though, she had to get her car off of the hotel grounds. I thought she wasn’t going to be able to make it because there were about 15 cars in front of her, and only 45 minutes to get to the ceremony site (which was a 20 minute drive). Thankfully the hotel manager came to the rescue again, as she was in her CRV and had four wheel drive, she was told if she hopped to curb and went up over a hill, she’d find freedom on the other side! What a story that can be told 🙂
I managed to get down the aisle and say my vows without crying! There were some moments though where I wasn’t sure I’d make it through.
The rain held off, it rained for about 30 seconds (spitted really) after the ceremony, but it was just enough to clear people from the stairs for the photos.
Reception went well (as far as I can tell).
And now I’m married, and loving my honeymoon!

Here are some semi-pro pics (father of the ring bearer and flower girl is into photography and took them).
Picture 1: Me doing a much better job than I thought I would at holding back the tears. My big brother, not so much 😛
Picture 2: during a reading I think.
Picture 3: going to the sand ceremony
Picture 4: possibly one of my favourite pictures, because it so natural, also, it rained only for like 30 seconds.
Picture 5: Mike freeing a bug that got caught in the many many layers of the dress. One of many bugs that also got caught. Among other things.
Picture 6: Showing the flower girl some love 🙂 (I babysit for her and her brother [the ring bearer], and have been for 5.5 years)
