I never realized that growing a belly would be such a slooooooooow process!
I’m 16 weeks, and I’ve started to show a little in the last couple weeks, but I’m watching my belly like a hawk and it’s like trying to watch grass grow!! It just seems to be taking forever!
How can I have a uterus the size of a melon and a baby the size of an avocado right now in there because I have no idea where it’s fitting! lol….When I hear that I think I should be huge! I’m only a small bit rounder so far.

Some women just don’t show that much. Some pop later stage of pregnancy. I know I really didn’t look pregnant until about 25 weeks or so.

Ditto Ditto Ditto! My sister warned me that since I am pretty tall and have a long torso, chances are I wouldn’t really look pregnant until closer to 20 weeks. Just in the last week I have a belly now that I am unable to suck in all the way. Before that, if I was just chilling and not paying attention it would stick out a little, but I could definitely suck it back in. It’s not *so* bad, though, I am sure once we are all humongous, we will be glad for the extra time we had as not so huge, haha! I enjoy still being able to paint my toes, shave my legs, etc.

remember that your uterus sits quite far back too. I didnt start to show so it was noticiable to others until i was about 18 weeks (im tallish and have a long torso) and even now when im due on Thusday people keep telling me how tiny i am. I feel huge but when i look at other pregnant woman i do wonder where my baby is hiding!
It is a very slow process but seriously make the most of your small tummy now it will soon get very uncomfortable!

I feel like I “popped out” at 18 weeks because DH actually said you look pregnant not fat anymore! lol. He means it with love.
I’m short (5’3″) so I expected I would show earlier.

Sometimes it seems slow especially if you are in that just-looking-like-you-ate-too-much stage, but once you pop, it can seem like it grows exponentially! I swear one day, I put on my scrub top in the morning, and at night I couldn’t take it off because it was stuck on my belly! Haha.

I felt the same way, it took until about 26 weeks for it to become really noticeable, I used to get really angry with people when they told me how tiny my bump was. Even when I was ready to have my DS it literally looked like a basketball under my top. But as soon as I had him I completely lost my belly and I was back in my normal clothes the next day. So I am now pretty happy that I had a little bump 🙂

Haha, I know! Same feeling! Now I’m an onion at 17w, so that’s either a big avocado or a small onion!

Everyone’s pregnancy is different. I’m 8 months pregnant and everyone at my shower last weekend told me I have a small bump for how far along I am.

@Sunshine09: I know the feeling! Hang in there..I didn’t really start ‘showing’ until 24-25 weeks..I’m 27 weeks tomorrow and people still look at me for a little on the train before they offer me a seat.
