Right now I look at my wedding photos almost everyday to a couple times a week. Im sure as more time goes on I will look at them less and less. However, they are not currently in an album just online. Once I have the album I will probably look at them a little less. I am looking at them so much right now because 1) we recently got married and 2) because I am trying to edit them and get them ready to be made into our album.
Photography is different for everyone though so do what fits you. I am the type that I pull out old pictures ALL The time. I love to look at baby pictures, pictures from high school and college, pictures of my husband and I over the past few years etc. THerefore I know that I will always look at our wedding photos and it was important to me that they looked a certain way. You can find a good photographer for a good price though. We paid $1440 for 8+ hours of coverage by 2 photographers, discs with our images and all the rights to the photographs. They also did a good amount of post-processing included in that price. We didnt spend an arm and a leg and we still got beautiful photos. THey arent as amazing as some that I have seen, but they capture our day and the emotions of our day and thats what is the most important to me!

I do photography as a hobby so I understand the art. I just can’t justify spending thousands on them. We put an ad on Craigslist saying:
Looking for a great beginning photographer for a skill swap! Are you a photography student or recently graduated and trying to build up a portfolio? Do you have a great portfolio but lack a professional looking website? Most brides and other clients will not take you seriously without a professional looking website. Enter FlareFx. We are looking to skill swap with the right photographer who needs a website or perhaps an upgrade to an exsisting one. We will provide a webpage with whatever you like, FLASH, galleries, contact pages, client logins, email, and business card designs in exchange for two photographers who need to build a portfolio or revamp their website.
We sat down and figured out the design and coding cost per hour and for two photographers all day it will equal out to about $1600. Photos are very important to me, but since I do edit I know that I can easily take the originals and edit them to my liking if the retouched ones don’t turn out the way I like. ^_^
ETA: Ack! That’s what happens when you are watching Shrek with your daughter! Thanks for pointing that out.

@Miss Tattoo: There is a typo in your ad: swamp instead of swap. Good idea though!

Right now I’m working on our album, so I look at them a lot… but I would think it would decrease to once every couple months as we get further from the wedding. I have a scrapbooked album of me growing up that I get the urge to look at about that often, so that’s my frame of reference.

I think its very important. I know so many people who don’t even display your photos. We have framed photos in our home and a gorgeous huge wedding album with those huge thick pages (forget what they are called) on our credenza in our dining room for our guests to look at! I will always treasure our wedding day.
