I know the type. There is a friend of a friend whose posts occasionally show up on my page due to us commenting on the same things. She posts this crap, but then goes further by trying to make everyone think she is mother of the year. The truth is that one kid is in the custody of his father and the other just failed the ninth grade for the second time. I don’t know if anyone is actually buying her line of bull or not…

Yeah, I get annoyed by these, too. I guess mostly because the same people post them non-stop & it just seems attention seeking, at that point. Like, yes, you see one cool quote/article/expression that really speaks to you, and you post it once or twice a year…cool. You post something everyday & likely those things all do not have something to do with you. In fact, I know a girl who keeps posting things like “The things you do show who you really are”…well, sister, you’re CHEATING ON YOUR HUSBAND, so what does that say about you?? It’s annoying.
I am a parent, and, frankly, if I want to say something insightful, I’ll say it to my child, not post it on facebook. The occasional gratuitous parent brag post is fine in my book, but I just don’t really understand the purpose of something like this, in particular? (Also, I find that there tends to be a strong negative correlation between trying to prove you’re a good mother, wife, daughter, student, etc, and actually being one).
