Honestly situations like this speak more to the character of the males than the women who choose to work in this industry.

I have attended a stag night where we had two strippers come into the hotel room and dance/perform a faux lesbian act for the groom and then we went off to a strip club. But that was it. What kind of man cheats on their future wife like that and reasons it as their “last hoorah”? If you’re in that mindset to begin with, you shouldn’t be getting married

I didn’t know this was “common” for bachelor parties but I’m not entirely conviced that it is. I think this has to do more with the character of the guy (like j_jaye said) than what usually takes place. I just read a thread about how a Fiance came home with HUGE bruise on his behind and apparently spanking the groom is common at bachelor parties. I would believe that more than that it’s common for guys to go into the boom boom room. Maybe in certain circles, but I can’t imagine this is super common. Someone tell me if I’m wrong and that this happens all the time and – ugh –  I’ll be super horrified.

This might be the standard in your social circles, but I don’t think your poll accurately reflects the situation across the country, around the world, or even in different communities near you.

For example, did I know that this is considered acceptable and reasonable behavior by some men? Yes. I’ve even been around some of those guys before (though never dated one). However, that’s not really accurate to your question because I also know that it’s no where near standard behavior for most of the guys in my current social circle. In fact, none of the guys my guy hangs out with ever went to strip clubs for their parties. Forget sex, even the standard strip club experience was off the table. It’s just not them.

I’m not surprised to hear that this happens.  And it doesn’t happen at all bachelor parties, it is just something that CAN happen if the groom happens to be a worthless, disgusting pig of a man with no respect for the woman he’s marrying.

I read an article about it in Marie Claire once. But I’m maybe its more common in certain areas then others.

@mrs.folks: What I meant is that it doesn’t really accurately reflect what one knows about happening at parties attended by their own partners. In some circles, there’s nothing to “know” because nothing like this happens. How can one “know” that sex with strippers/models is a common behavior if it’s not a common behavior for anyone they know?

What I’m suggesting is that at least one more option would be relevant here: I know this happens at parties people I know attend, I didn’t know this may be happening at parties people I know attend, or I did know that this does happen at some parties, but it’s not something that happens at parties anyone I know attends.

I realize that family doesn’t always mean social circle. But, given that your husband mentioned that he knows about the actions at two different ones, I assumed that you guys are at least somewhat social with the group. I don’t mean it in any negative way. I know that a couple of my brother’s friends are the types who would likely have a bachelor party that could easily involve sex with a stripper. I’m not naive, so I realize that this means my brother very well could have been in the same position, though I doubt it since I don’t even think he had one since he largely eloped.

Did I know it happens at some men’s bachelor parties? Yes. Would I flip the f*** out? Absolutely. There would be no wedding.

I wouldn’t consider it common, but it’s certainly not unheard of. Still, that doesn’t make it ok.

I mean, not to sound too jaded, but absolutely nothing surprises me anymore.
